RF Mass Putaway

Purpose: RF Mass Putaway allows you to perform a quick-entry RF Item Transfer in order to transfer 1 unit of the specified item from the location where the item will be pulled to the location where the item will be placed.

When you process the RF Mass Putaway transaction, the system performs the RF Item Transfer Pull Transaction and RF Item Transfer Put Transaction in a single step. In addition, once you define the From warehouse and location, To warehouse and location and the item to transfer, the system immediately performs the RF Mass Putaway transaction for a quantity of 1 without waiting for you to select OK or press Enter to proceed with the transfer.

• The RF Item Transfer Pull transaction transfers the item quantity from the from location to the intransit location in the same warehouse.

• The RF Item Transfer Put transaction, transfers the item quantity from the intransit location to a specified warehouse and location.

The system creates four transfer records in the Item Transaction History table for the RF Mass Putaway transaction:

• One record indicates the quantity transferred from the specified From warehouse and location.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred to the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred from the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred to the specified To warehouse and location.

RF Mass Putaway Example

You wish to transfer 1 unit of item RF1234 from staging warehouse 4 and location PENDING to its primary warehouse 5 and location PRIMARY.

You enter the following information on the Mass Putaway Screen:

• From warehouse = 4

• From location = PENDING

• To warehouse = 5

• To location = PRIMARY

• Short SKU = 99

The intransit location defined for warehouse 4 is TRANSIT.

When you process the RF Mass Putaway, the system creates the following transfer transactions:

Mass Putaway Screen

How to display this screen: Select option 4. Mass Putaway and select OK or press Enter at the RF ITM TRN MENU Screen; see RF Screen Layout.

Secured Feature: The Allow Access to RF Item Transfer (A52) secured feature controls access to this option.

Cursor placement: When you first advance to this screen, the system places the cursor in the From Warehouse field.

Audible beep: If you have configured the RF gun to emit an audible beep for certain RF actions, the gun emits a high-pitched single beep when you first advance to the Mass Putaway screen, indicating the screen is ready to continue. See Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

RF Mass Putaway Process

Use the following steps to process an RF Mass Putaway transaction.

1.

Enter the warehouse where the stock is currently located in the Warehouse field. If the Default Pending Putaway in RF Receiving (K72) system control value is selected, the system defaults the warehouse for the first pending putaway location in Working with Default Warehouse Locations (WWDL).

2.

Scan the location barcode on the RF Bin Location Label where the stock is currently located or manually complete the FLoc field. To scan the location barcode on the Bin Location label correctly, the cursor on the screen must be in the FLoc field.

3.

Enter the warehouse where you wish to put away the stock in the Warehouse field. The warehouse code defined in the Default Warehouse (A04) system control value defaults, but you can override it.

4.

Scan the Location barcode on the RF Bin Location Label where you wish to put away the stock or manually complete the TLoc field. To scan the Location barcode on the Bin Location label correctly, the cursor on the screen must be in the TLoc field.

5.

Enter the item to transfer.

The setting of the Default Scan Type for RF Receiving and PI (K68) system control value controls whether you can scan the short SKU barcode or UPC barcode to identify the item to transfer.

• If set to blank or SHORTSKU, the system displays the SS field where you can scan the short SKU barcode on the RF Item Label or manually complete the SS field.

• If set to UPC08, UPC12, UPC13, or UPC14, the system displays the UPC field where you can scan the UPC barcode or manually complete the UPC field. The setting also indicates the length of the UPC barcode that can be scanned. Note: Include any leading zeros. For example, if the UPC code is 06012011, enter 06012011 and not 6012011.

6.

Once you enter the item to transfer, the system immediately processes the RF Mass Putaway transaction for a quantity of 1 without waiting for you to select OK or press Enter to proceed with the transfer.

The system:

• Displays the following message: Putaway Processed and if configured, emits a high-pitched single beep when the transfer is complete, indicating the screen is ready to continue. See Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

• Transfers the stock from the specified From warehouse and location to the intransit location in the from warehouse.

• Transfers the item quantity from the intransit location to the specified To warehouse and location.

• Retains the From warehouse and location and To warehouse and location and places the cursor in the SS or UPC field so that you scan another item for RF Mass Putaway.

The system creates four transfer records in the Item Transaction History table:

• One record indicates the quantity pulled from the specified From warehouse and location.

• One record indicates the quantity put in the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• Once record indicates the quantity pulled from the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity put in the specified To warehouse and location.

RF Mass Putaway errors: See RF Mass Putaway Errors for a list of errors that you can receive on the Mass Putaway screen. If configured, the RF gun emits a low pitched triple beep when an error occurs on the Mass Putaway screen that requires user intervention; see Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.
