Oracle® Hardware Management Pack for Oracle Solaris 11.3 Release Notes

Exit Print View

Updated: June 2018

NVMe Flash Accelerator PCIe Cards Are Not Classified as Add-On Disks in SPARC Systems (23253880, 23253984)

Fixed in Oracle Solaris SRU 10 (Hardware Management Pack for Oracle Solaris version 2.3.6.0).

When viewed from Oracle ILOM, the flash storage on NVMe flash accelerator PCIe cards in SPARC systems is not listed as add-on disks under the System/Storage/Disks component hierarchy. This has to do with the way the hardware management agent, which is used to provide storage information to Oracle ILOM, currently classifies storage on NVMe flash accelerator PCIe cards.

Workaround

To obtain basic information about installed NVMe flash accelerator PCIe cards in Oracle ILOM, look under System/PCI_Devices/Add-on. For example:

show /System/PCI_Devices/Add-on/Device_6
    Targets:

    Properties:
        part_number = 7110865
        description = Oracle Flash Accelerator F160 PCIe Card: 1.6TB, NVMe PCIe 3.0
        location = PCIE6 (PCIe Slot 6)
        pci_vendor_id = 0x8086
        pci_device_id = 0x0953
        pci_subvendor_id = 0x8086
        pci_subdevice_id = 0x370b

    Commands:
        cd
        show

For additional information about, and configuration of, installed NVMe flash accelerator PCIe cards, use the Oracle Hardware Management Pack nvmeadm command.
