Remarks on program function

The data for configuration of an Epson TM-6000 printer can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

The interface and the link to a processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode of the printer set.

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol of the communications of the printer is required for error analysis.


Cut off

Default = 4

Enter the number of lines the receipt is to advance after the last print line and before the receipt is cut off.


Columns

Default 42

Enter a value for the number of characters to be printed per line.


Column slip

Default 45

Enter a value for the number of characters to be printed per line if a slip is to be printed.


Baud rate

Select a parity setting by clicking onto this field and with a second click choosing the option required.

Code Page

Select one of the code page settings offered by clicking onto this field and with a second click choosing the code page required.


Entry

Default 255

Enter a value in this field, to determine the code page index.


Ontime

Default 100

A value is entered in milliseconds to define how long the release magnet of the connected drawer is to remain active.


Poll timeout

Default 20000

A value is entered in milliseconds to define the intervals at which the status of the printer is to be called up. The appropriate message is sent if the response is negative.


Request timeout

Default 2000

A value is entered in milliseconds to define at which intervals the printer should answer after a status call up. Printer offline is sent if the response is negative.


MICR timeout

Default 60000

Enter a value in milliseconds to define at which intervals the MICR reader should answer after a status call up. The error message MICR offline is sent if the response is negative.

Note:
This value only applies if option MICR reader has been activated.


Usage printer

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the options offered by clicking onto this field and choosing the type of operation required with a second click.

The system offers the following operation modes:


Usage drawer 1

Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 9

Enter a drawer no. in this field if drawer 1 is connected up to this printer and if the drawer is to open from operator and payment mode. If two drawers are connected up to the printer, the second drawer is given the value +1. This must have been entered under Operator and in the appropriate Parameters of the payment mode.


Usage reader

Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 9

Enter a value here if this printer has a card reader connected.


Density

Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 3

Enter a value for the print density of the logo. Please note that the print density affects the size of the printed logo. The higher the solution, the smaller the logo.

MICR font

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the OCR fonts from which the MICR reader is to read by clicking onto this field and with a second click choosing the option required.

The system offers the following fonts:


MICR event

Default = MICR


Inverted logo

Switch active: Inverted logo print
Switch deactivated: Normal logo print


Euro code page

Switch active: The code page for the Euro character set is active
Switch deactivated: The code page for the Euro character set is deactivated


NV logo

Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 99

Enter the number of the NV logo which is to be printed from the flash RAM of the printer.

Note:
Various logo data can be loaded into the flash RAM of the printer with the appropriate software from the printer manufacturer.


MICR reader

Switch active: The MICR reader is active
Switch deactivated: The MICR reader is deactivated


BMP file

Path and name of BMP file for logo print

A logo can be printed on the receipt instead of the normal receipt heading lines. If logo print is required, the name of the BMP file and the path (e.g. work directory = work.10, BMP file in directory xpm; entry = ../xpm/BMP file name) in relation to the current work directory should be entered in this field.

Please note the following:

A BMP file is created with the appropriate program (e.g. "PAINT" for Windows). A colour depth of 1 bit (=2 colours) should be selected.

The size and the ratio of the X/Y solution in Pixel is dependent on the printer on which the logo is to be printed.
