Remarks on program function
The data for connection of a CASHCARD payment terminal type EVIS-Terminal can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.
The interface and linkage to a process unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode of the EFT terminal should be set.
Further parametering is required to operate this device, e.g. the appropriate Payment type and the appropriate card reading parameters in program Branch.
The EVIS payment terminal is needed for payments with so-called Cashcard magnetic cards. In addition, cash cards can also be loaded with a specified amount. This can be done during a receipt with key event <fPAYINCARDn> (n= finance type Paid in).

Remarks on data fields
The following details all options available for update of the basic data.
The following applies to this program:
- The entry mask may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the user program. Some data fields may be missing.
- Some data fields may have defaults or defined selection options so that they cannot be updated in this program.
- The entry mask may contain fields with enforced entries, and in other fields entries may be optional.
- If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The procedure is the same if you want to call up another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find the so-called. "Switches" which are either activated or deactivated - depending on the setting - by clicking with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.
Debug
The system offers the following debug levels:
- 0 = no protocol of database communication in file "errlog"
- 1 =
- 2 =
- 3 = display of all communications data in file "errlog"
NOTE:
Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol is required for the communication of the payment
terminal for error analysis. The protocol appears in file "errlog" in
directory work of the appropriate system unit.

Coding

Select one of the offered codings by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following:

Usage
Default = 2
Enter the number of the terminal in this field. The value entered here must match the value entered in the appropriate payment type, i.e. the terminal no. entered in program Payment type will be selected.
Decimal Digits
Default = 2
The number of decimal places is entered in this field.
Max.Retries
Default = 3
The number of read retries is entered in this field.
Event name
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.
The name "CARDREADER" is entered in this field to ensure that the appropriate function is completed by the terminal program.
Track
Default = 1
Enter the number of the track which the terminal is to read from the magnetic card.
EFT Type
Default = 15
Enter the number for the type of EFT terminal in this field.
