GiroNet-Reader
The program description deals with the following:
The data for connection of a Giro Net-Reader can be
updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has
already been stored can also be displayed.
The interface and the link to a processing unit must be
defined and the device-specific operating mode of the Giro Net-Redader set.
Attention!
Prior to initial use of this card reader device, the third party software from
Giro Net has to be installed as follow::
- Before the first use of the Giro Net-Reader, you need to
extract the program files from the ZIP archive "GN_DLL.zip" in
thedirectory..\bin to a temporary folder.
- A detailed description for the installation and activation
of this software are available in the file "Giro DLL.pdf".
- First run the program "Start GNTransfer.exe". In
the following window "check DLL" you have to perform the command
"Key export "..
- The export file together with the inertface information
(COM PORT) must be send to the following e-mail address
"Mario.Eisel@Gironet.de".
- The obtained license keys must be imported with the
command " Activation import".
Each system require its unique licence key. The relevant DLLs could be
copied for the use of other software components of this software reseller.
- After licensing, you have to perfom the command "oscar
installGironet" from the directory "..\work".
- For removing the software components from your system the
command "oscar removeGiroNet" has to be used.
- Configure the device"GiroNet-leser" in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
application.. Be aware, that the device has to be connected at the licensed
com port.
- Configure the card parameter in program Branch -> Card Reader Parameter.
All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies
here:
- The entry
mask in the application program may differ for this program. Some data fields may be missing
- There may be some defaults or firmly
defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in
the current program.
- The entry mask contains fields where
entry is optional and fields with enforced entry defined.
- If the data record is updated over
several pages of entry masks, the dialog
window is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with
<Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure also applies to
call-up of another update program from this program.
- In some cases, you may find so-called
"Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with
<Mouse key 1> depending on the setting. Activated switches have a
dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the debug levels offered by clicking on this
field and with a second click confirming the option selected.
The system offers the following:
- 0 = no protocol of data communication in file
"errlog"
- 1 =
- 2 =
- 4 =
- 5 = all communication data in file "errlog"
Notes:
Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol of the communication of the Giro NET-Reader is
required for error analysis. The information can be found in file
"errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system
unit.
