The program description deals with the following:
A device of type IMC Printer can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for inslipation. The interface and link to a processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating type set.
In theory up to 10 printers can be connected to interface board IMC 70. As the printer requires a high amount of power, we would recommend that not more than one printer per bus be connected.
Note:
Operation of IMC devices assumes that
the interface board IMC 70 has been installed for connection of these devices.
Documentation IMC 70 provides more inslipation on installation and configuration of the IMC 70 interface board.
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:
Path and name of the DLL file for the device driver for IMC devices
..\bin\ is the standard entry for this file in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS directory. The entry in this field should read ../bin/imc1_87.dll.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selected option.
The system offers the following debug levels:
Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol of the communication of the printer is required
for error analysis.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the offered printers by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following printers:
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 9
Enter a number to define the type of printer.
The number defines the following:
Field with firmly defined selection options (default = 70 mm)
Select one of the offered paper roll widths. This option only applies to SX printers.
The paper roll width is selected by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the option required.
The system offers the following:
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 -1000 ms (default = 100)
This value defines the time in milliseconds from status change "No paper " to "Paper exists" to allow for paper feed to start of slip. The value should be set to between 0 (=immediately) and 1000 (= 1 second).
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 -100 ms (default = 0)
Enter the number of lines which can be printed on the longest slip. This setting is required for SX printers to allow the paper to be advanced after the maximum number of lines has been printed on the slip. The value 72 is the default for SX printers.
Page change on R1 printers does not require line feeds. Enter a value between 0 and 100 here.
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 -65535 ms (default = 2000)
This value defines the time between the various status queries of the printer.
Entry range permitted: numeric (default = 30)
Enter the number of characters which are to be printed per line on receipt and journal.
The following applies:
Note:
At present the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program only
supports printers with more than 29 characters per line.
Entry range permitted: numeric (default = 72)
Enter the number of characters to be printed per line on the slip.
The following applies:
Entry range permitted: numeric (default = 18)
This option only applies to SX printers.
Enter the number of lines the slip is to be pulled in.
The value for this R1 (flat bed) printer can be up to -4. Higher values can be entered if, for example, logo print is programmed. We recommend value 0 for R1 (flat bed) printer. This entry suppresses advance line feed at the beginning of the slip. Values between -4 and 25 are possible.
Field with firmly defined selection options (default = no validation)
This setting only applies to the B2 printer.
Select one of the values offered to define the number of lines for slip print by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following:
