Remarks on program function

A device of type IMC scanner can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information. The interface and link to a processing unit must be defined and the device-specific operating type set.

Note:
Operation of IMC devices assumes that interface board IMC 70 has been installed for connection of these devices.

Documentation IMC 70 provides further information on installation a configuration of the IMC 70 interface board.

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:

The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window, is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with <Mouse key 1>, depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

IMC DLL file

Path and name of DLL file for the device driver for IMC devices

..\bin\ is the standard entry for this file in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS directory. The entry in this field should read ../bin/imc1_87.dll.

Debug

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

The system offers the following debug levels:

0 = no protocol of data communication in file "errlog"
1 =
2 =
3 =
4 = display of all communication data in file "errlog"

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol for communication of the scanner is required for error analysis. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.

Baudrate

Select one of the offered baud rates by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

The system offers the following baud rates:

1200 =
2400 =
4800 =
9600 = default

Each serial scanner can be connected to one of the two V24 interfaces. The other protocol parameters are firmly defined.

The scanner should be programmed as follows:

7 BIT
EVEN PARITY
1 STOP BIT
