Remarks on program function
The data for connection of a payment terminal type, PosPlus fiscal unit, can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed for information.
The interface and link to a processing unit is defined here and the specific operating mode of the device is set.
Note:
The configuration of the fiscal unit from type "PosPlus" needs the
environment variable "OSCAR_OPTIONS=FiscalUnit" in theoscar.ini file.
Additionally the manufacturer device driver for the connection to
USB-Serial-Port (COM3, COM4) must be installed..

Remarks on data fields
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:
- The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
- There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
- Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
- If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window is reached by clicking onto the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find so-called "Switches" which are activated or deactivated by the user with <Mouse key 1>, depending on the setting. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.
Debug
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the debug levels offered by clicking onto the field and then a second click onto the option required.
The system offers the following debug level:
- 0 = no protocol of the data communication in file "errlog"
- 1 =
- 2 =
- 3 =
- 4 = display of all communication data in file "errlog"
Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol of the communication with the device is required
for error analysis. The data appears in file "errlog" in directory work
of the appropriate system unit.
Usage
Default = 1
Enter the number of the terminal in this field. The value entered here must match the value entered in the appropriate payment type, i.e. the payment terminal whose number was entered in the program Payment type is selected.
Baudrate

Select one of the offered baud rates by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following baud rates:
- 57600 = Default
Poll Timeout
Default = 5000 milliseconds
Request Timeout
Default = 3000 Milliseconds
Send Timeout
Default = 300 Milliseconds
Code page
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select one of the offered code pages.
Default = Internal codepage
Manufactor ID
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 18 pos.
Enter the number of the manufacturer. The manufacturer number entered here, must match the manufacturer number of the connected device.
