Virtual scanner

The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

The data for configuration of a virtual scanner can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with the program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

The interface and link to an interface, processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode of the device set.

Note:

Virtual devices are only intended for test purposes if connection of devices is not possible for whatever reason. Java 1.4 or newer versions should be installed if virtual devices (printer, display, drawer, lock or scanner) are to be tested.

A device interface type IP address should be configured and the device name, the local IP no. (localhost) and the port no. (5440) (locahost:5440) entered. In this example 5449 should be used as port no. for the virtual scanner.

The EAN-Code can be entered in the program window and can be scanned via the button "Scan". All entered EAN-Codes will be stored temporary und can be selected again from the select list. An XML file (scanCodes.xml) can be stored in the ..\work directory to keep the EAN codes. The file "scanCodes.xml" will be read during the start procedure of the virtual scanner.

Example "scanCodes.xml":

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

<scanCodes>

            <scanCode value="500153"/>

            <scanCode value="40304069"/>

            <scanCode value="400476427145"/>

            <scanCode value="4001257153002"/>

            <scanCode value="4004764827145"/>

            <scanCode value="4006508125425"/>

            <scanCode value="4011800500153"/>

            <scanCode value="4015000011433"/>

            <scanCode value="4051400808105"/>

            <scanCode value="4311596402519"/>

            <scanCode value="9783860631621"/>

            <scanCode value="42048060"/>
