Authorization of an Operator
The
procedure for an authorization of an operator will be generally explained in the first part; the second part includes some Examples.
The
operator has to be assigned to a profile (already existent),
the profile has to be assigned to a group profile (already existent).
Assignment to an application group is done in the group profile. At the same
time, the authority of the application group, and also the authority of the
assigned operator, will be determined by your decision if the operator is
allowed to start particular programs or to edit, paste or delete data.
Assumption
A
profile with the profile no. 10 has been set up in the system which is
connected to the application group Suppliers
(that already exists per default in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application).
Procedure:
- Program Operator
Call up the operator in the program Operator
by entering the appropriate number.
- Operator -> Details
Change to the sub-window Details.
In this window, a profile is assigned via Profile no.. Select profile no. 10 and change to the program
Profile[text] via the right-hand button.
- Program Profile[text]
Profile no. 10 and the corresponding name will be displayed. Save. Then
change to program Group Profile via the appropriate button.
- Program Group Profile
Select the Application
group Suppliers. Deactivate
the switch Start Program. By
this you define that the operator is not
allowed to start programs of the area “Suppliers”. Close the window.
- Closing and Saving of Profile[text], Details, Operator
Save the window Profile[text]
to disk and close it. Then close the still open window “Details”. Save the
entries in the window Operator.
The procedure is now complete.
You
can check if your procedure has been successful by signing on Operator 1 again (Parameters –> Sign
on). The following attempt to start the program area Suppliers (via the Supplier button or via Application -> Supplier) will be rejected with a
corresponding error message.
Assumption:
In
your system, the Application Group 20 Item / Department and the Applications 10 Item and 76 Department are
present by default. Both applications must be assigned to the application
group.
Procedure:
- Program Application group
Check first if the conditions listed above have been met by changing to
the program Application Group
via System -> Interface -> Applications (button Application Group). Select Application Group 20
and save.
- Program Applications
Select the application 10 Item in the window Applications, and assign Application Group 20.
Save. Select Application
76 Department and link Application group 20 to this. Save. Then
close the window Applications.
- Program Operator
Change to the program Operator,
call up the desired operator.
- Operator -> Details
Open the sub-window Details.
Assign a profile via Profile No.,
and change to the program Profile [text] via the right-hand button.
- Program Profile[text]
Profile no. 10 and the corresponding name will be displayed. Save. Click
on the button Group Profile.
By this, you change to the program of the same name.
- Program Group Profile
Select the application group Item / Department. Then deactivate the
switches Insert Data and Delete Data. By this, the operator is
prevented from creating or deleting items / departments. Close the window.
- Closing and Saving of Profile[text], Details, Operator
Save the window Profile[text]
to disk and close it. Then close the still open window “Details”. Save the
entries in the window Operator.
The procedure is now complete.
You
can check if your procedure has been successful by signing on Operator 1 again (Parameters –> Sign
on).Attempts to create new items will now be rejected with a corresponding
error message.
Assumption:
The operator has been created in the system. The profile to which the operator
is assigned has not been created, yet.
Procedure:
- Program Operator
Call up the operator in the program Operator
by entering the appropriate number.
- Operator -> Details
Click on the button that is assigned to the field Profile. By this, you go
to the next window.
- Details -> Profile text
Enter a free profile number. Confirm. Then enter any name. Save. Click on
the button Profile.
- Profile text - > Profile
Enter the FSM name cancel
under FSM Function. The
functions and their correct spelling can be found under Keyboard and Booking
Functions. Select die --2-- to be the
Key Function. No entries will be made in the fields Max. Input Length and Password. Save your entries. Proceed
in the same way with all other void types if you want to put them under
key position 2. Close the open windows. Note that the window Operator still has to be saved.
The
procedure is complete. The operator is now unable to carry out a void in key
position “1”.
