General Description of the Safe Administration

By the configuration of safes, you can administer the following safe transfers within a branch in the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application:

• Safe in
  This safe transfer is for confirming normal in-payments in the safe.
• Safe out
  This safe transfer is for confirming normal out-payments in the safe.
• Transfer to Safe
  This safe transfer is for confirming remittances from one safe to another.
• Transfer to Bank
  This safe transfer is for confirming remittances from a safe to the bank.
• Safe Declare
  This safe transfer is for confirming an inventory of the money in the safe.
• Pay in control
  This safe transfer is for confirming a declared entry or out-transfer in the safe.
  The manual declared entry for a safe is only necessary if no automatic money transfer to the safe is carried out at the terminals during the declared entry / transfer out.

In addition to the safe transfers mentioned above, you can configure the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application in a way that an Automatic Safe Transfer will be carried out during the declared entry, float booking transaction and the transfer out on the terminal and operator levels.

Configuration of Safes

Proceed as follows to configure a safe:

• Update program Company -> Safe
  Install one or more safes on the company level and activate the option "Money from/to Till" for the safes that are to carry out an automatic safe transfer when a declared entry, a float booking transaction and a transfer out is carried out on the operator and terminal levels.
• Update program Company -> Safe Transfer Type
  Create the transaction types you need for the safe transfers (e.g. Pay in/ out, Transfer to safe / bank, Safe declare and Pay in control, see Safe Setup).

Configuration of Automatic Safe Money Transfers

During the declared entry, float booking transaction and transfer out on the terminal and operator levels, an automatic safe transfer can be carried out, i.e. if one of the mentioned booking transactions is being carried out at the POS or administration terminal, a corresponding money transfer takes place in the assigned safe.

Proceed as follows to configure this function:

• Update program Company -> Safe
  Install one or more safes on the company level and activate the option "Money from/to Till" for the safes that are to carry out an automatic safe transfer when a declared entry, a float booking transaction and a transfer out is carried out on the operator and terminal levels.
• Update program Company -> Safe Transfer Type
  Create the transaction types you need for the safe transfers (e.g. Pay in/ out, Transfer to safe / bank, Safe declare and Pay in control, see Safe Setup).
• Update program Terminals -> Add. Data
  Assign a safe for which you have activated the option "Money from / to Till" to the terminal in the fields Declared to Safe, Trans out to Sale and Float from Safe.
• Update program Operator -> Details 2
  Assign a safe for which you have activated the option "Money from / to Till" to the terminal in the fields Declared to Safe, Trans out to Safe and Float from Safe.
• Update program Paymenttype
  Activate the option "Safe related" for all payment types which should be used for safe related transactions.
