The sending of the modified
data of the main installation to its directly assigned sub-installations can be
achieved by pressing the Update Installation
button in the Installation maintenance
program.
Note:
However data
can be exchanged via XML files if there is no connection between the main
installation and the sub-installation (see Batch
communication).
An update of the database
for a sub-installation assumes that the system units concerned are accessible
via the TCP/IP network and there is communication between the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
database server and the sub-installation concerned.
After communications have
been successfully established the database is checked for changes to basic data
since the last update. All changes since the last update are sent by the
database server to the directly connected sub-installations.
If there is an interruption
to the database update, the operation is continued during the next update.
Note:
In update
program Parameter -> Misc.parameter Protected
fields individual
data records and data fields can be protected in the sub-installations against
overwriting.
