How the Gaming Interface Functions with PTS

The Patron Tracking System (PTS) interface permits interaction between a casino PTS and the property management system (PMS or OPERA). The intention of this interface is to facilitate guest services with their operations, through the exchange of guest information between best-of- class systems in separate functional areas.

The interface consists of a few event processors, which track configured events within OPERA, and a set of Web services. These are coupled with Web services, which are provided by the PTS system (in accordance to the  specifications supplied by OPERA).

The OPERA event processors track user interaction and call the Web service functions provided by PTS. This system provides the means for OPERA to query external information from the PTS, such as looking-up a customer record, or simply notifying the PTS of an event in OPERA, such as a reservation notification. The OPERA Web services provide the PTS with the means to query information from OPERA, or notify OPERA of events within the external system.
