34 Rental Deposits

Rental deposits are used in Simphony to record advance payments on scheduled events, such as banquets, parties, room rentals, or as a security deposit on loaned items, such as bowling shoes. The Rental Deposits feature allows workstation operators to accept, apply, record, report, and refund rental deposits taken at the POS client.

A rental deposit can be a menu item or a non-revenue service charge. Unlike traditional non-revenue service charges, a check can contain more than one rental deposit.

Automatic discounts are not applied to rental menu items as the discount amount can change when other items are added to the check.
