Adding a Fusion EPM Destination

Connect a Cost Advisor workspace to the prepared Fusion EPM environment that will receive its data and insights.

Important

Note

You must have a Fusion EPM instance and an EPM Enterprise license to connect Cost Advisor for AI to the Fusion EPM environment.

Create a Cost Advisor workspace and identify the target Fusion EPM environment. Have your EPM and identity domain administrators available to set up identity access for the destination connection.

Complete Preparing Fusion EPM for Cost Advisor for AI before entering destination connection details. This includes downloading the setup package from step 1, Prepare Fusion EPM, installing EPM Automate, extracting the package, and importing and verifying the EPM application configuration. We recommend completing this preparation before adding AI providers.

After EPM preparation, add at least one AI provider. We recommend adding both person and project ID mappings before connecting the destination so that the delivered data includes your cost allocations.

Each workspace supports one destination. If one is already set up, review it on the Destination tab and use Edit destination to update the connection.

Note

The Console connection uses a public signing certificate and JSON Web Token (JWT) assertions to obtain an OAuth access token. It requires the integration username, but not the account password or an OAuth client secret. See How JWT Authentication Works for EPM.
  1. Open the workspace, select Destination, and then select Add destination.
  2. In step 1, Prepare Fusion EPM, select the completion checkbox labeled I have completed the EPM setup and confirmed that the application configuration was imported successfully. Then select Next.
The EPM setup and application configuration import must be complete before you continue. For preparation and verification instructions, see Preparing Fusion EPM for Cost Advisor for AI.
  3. Complete step 2, Set up the EPM identity domain.
    1. Under Download public signing certificate, select Download to save cost-advisor-for-ai-epm-public-signing-certificate.pem. Copy the Certificate alias, oracle-cost-advisor-epm-pub-cert, shown under Create a confidential application.
    2. Create a confidential application in the identity domain associated with the target EPM environment. Select JWT Assertion as an allowed grant and Trusted as the client type, and import the public certificate using the alias specified for the EPM connection.
    3. Select Specific authorized resources and add the target EPM Cloud service and its scope.
    4. Have the identity domain administrator verify the certificate trust required for the user assertion.
    5. Under Oracle Cloud Services, open the same EPM service and set its OAuth secondary audience to the EPM environment's HTTPS base URL.
    6. Save the settings and activate the confidential application. Record the identity domain URL, OAuth client ID, and complete EPM service scope.
    7. Select the completion checkbox, and then select Next.
Complete the detailed steps in Setting Up Identity Access for Fusion Connections, including the EPM-specific trust and secondary-audience checks.
  4. In Connect to Fusion EPM, enter the connection details.
    EPM environment URL
Under EPM connection, enter the environment's HTTPS base URL without /epmcloud or any additional path, query string, or fragment.
    Integration username
Enter the exact username of the dedicated integration account prepared in Prepare Fusion EPM.
    Identity domain URL
Under Identity domain connection, enter the associated identity domain's HTTPS base URL, without the OAuth token endpoint path.
    OAuth client ID
Copy the client ID of the confidential application created in Set up the EPM identity domain.
    OAuth scope
Copy the complete scope added for the target EPM Cloud service in Set up the EPM identity domain. Don't use a Fusion HCM scope or a scope from a different EPM environment.
  5. Select Add destination.
Adding the connection takes about 6 to 8 minutes.

Cost Advisor for AI starts a validation work request in the background. You can continue working and view progress and errors in Work requests. Successful validation has the work request status SUCCEEDED. The Destination tab shows the destination's state and connection information.

If validation fails, review the error code, message, and timestamp. After correcting the configuration, select Edit destination and update the same connection. Saving the update starts a new validation work request. See Resolving EPM Connection Validation Issues.

A successful validation doesn't confirm that files have been delivered or loaded into EPM. Processing begins the day after onboarding. See Data Processing and EPM Reporting for the daily schedule and the EPM administrator's checks.
