Add at least one AI provider to give Cost Advisor for AI access to usage and cost data. Add only the providers and connections whose data you want included in the workspace.
Supported AI providers:
- OpenAI: OpenAI Platform and ChatGPT Enterprise.
- Anthropic: Claude Platform and Claude Enterprise.
- OCI Generative AI
ChatGPT Business and Claude Team plans aren't supported by Cost Advisor for AI.
Provider Credentials and Permissions
Before adding a provider, obtain credentials with the scopes listed in the OpenAI setup requirements or the Anthropic setup requirements.
For OCI Generative AI, review and approve the user, group, API key, and access policy that Cost Advisor creates when you add the provider. These resources let Cost Advisor retrieve your tenancy’s cost reports.
Adding Connections
Open a workspace and select the AI providers tab. Select Add in the provider's row and enter the required information. For OpenAI and Anthropic, select the platform connections, enterprise connections, or both that you want to include.
Platform and enterprise services can have different identifiers, credentials, and permissions, even when they belong to the same provider. Use the requirements for the connection type that you're adding.
After adding providers, we recommend adding both person and project ID mappings for cost allocation. These mappings are optional. Then connect a Fusion EPM destination to review data and insights.
Credit Pricing for ChatGPT Enterprise
Credit pricing is required for ChatGPT Enterprise connections. Enter your negotiated price per credit and its effective date so Cost Advisor can calculate costs from credit usage. The credit pricing you enter applies to all ChatGPT Enterprise connections in a Cost Advisor workspace. It doesn't apply to OpenAI Platform connections. See Adding OpenAI to a Cost Advisor Workspace.
Insights
Cost Advisor for AI insights process prompt content to identify likely intent and suggest models that might cost less. For the task categories identified by insights, see Intent Classification Definitions.
Checking the Setup
Adding each AI provider takes about 10 minutes after you submit the setup. Review each provider's state and connection information after setup. A provider being added doesn't by itself confirm that every connection is ready or that data and insights are available in Fusion EPM.
Use the workspace's Work requests tab to review submitted background operations. See Monitoring Cost Advisor Work Requests.
