Before you begin, see Preparing to Use Cost Advisor for AI for the prerequisites and recommended setup sequence.
Each workspace is an OCI resource in a region and compartment. For supported regions, see Regions for Cost Advisor for AI. To find an existing workspace in the Console, select the region and compartment that contain it.
What You Can Add to a Workspace
| Component | Purpose | Needed to Get Started? |
|---|---|---|
| AI providers | Supply AI usage and cost data through provider connections. | Add at least one. |
| Integrations | Map people to managers and cost centers, and project IDs from API usage to people and cost centers. A workspace can have both mapping types. | Recommended but optional. |
| Destination | Deliver Cost Advisor data and insights to Fusion EPM for analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. | Add one Fusion EPM destination to review data and insights. |
A Cost Advisor workspace can include several AI providers, and a provider can include several connections. For example, the OpenAI provider can have connections for different OpenAI Platform organizations or ChatGPT Enterprise workspaces. A ChatGPT Enterprise workspace is a provider data source. The Cost Advisor workspace organizes the connections to those sources.
Provider settings, such as OpenAI credit pricing for ChatGPT Enterprise connections, are described in the provider setup topics.
When to Create Separate Workspaces
Use one workspace for providers and connections whose cost data and settings need to be managed together. Adding another provider or connection doesn't by itself require another Cost Advisor workspace.
Create separate workspaces when teams, business units, or environments need different sets of provider connections or configuration. For example, separate workspaces can organize connections for production and development environments.
Next Steps
Create a workspace, then prepare Fusion EPM before adding AI providers. Continue with the setup sequence and estimated times.
Use work requests to review setup progress and errors. A workspace's Active state doesn't by itself confirm that its connections are ready or that data and insights are available in Fusion EPM.
To continue working with an existing workspace, find the workspace and open its details page. From there, manage providers, integrations, the destination, work requests, and tags.
