Will the assistant expose data that a user is not authorized to access?
No. The Change Management Assistant operates within Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management's existing security, permissions, and data access model. Assistant responses reflect the access rights of the user interacting with the assistant and cannot be used to bypass Cloud EDM security, request permissions, data access rules, or workflow controls.
If a user uses the assistant to create or submit request actions, who appears in the audit history?
The user remains the actor of record and custodian of changes. When the assistant helps a user perform request actions, the assistant serves as another interaction method for completing governed work in Cloud EDM. Audit history reflects the user who performed the action, consistent with Cloud EDM request processing and audit behavior.
Is the assistant automatically enabled?
No. The Change Management Assistant is optionally enabled through Cloud EDM system settings. This allows organizations to control when the assistant is introduced into their Cloud EDM environments. See Enabling Generative AI in Cloud EDM.
Is the assistant available directly within Cloud EDM?
Yes. The Change Management Assistant is available directly within Cloud EDM. Users do not need to leave Cloud EDM or configure the assistant through an external agent studio experience to use the capabilities.
Is the assistant included with the Cloud EDM subscription?
The Change Management Assistant is an embedded AI capability included with the Cloud EDM subscription and is not purchased separately. Customers should confirm applicable commercial terms in their Oracle ordering documents and service agreements.
What languages are supported by the assistant?
The Change Management Assistant is supported for English language interactions. Depending on the Language setting in your user preferences (see Setting Your Preferences), the assistant may generate responses in other languages.
Does the assistant operate within Cloud EDM governance controls?
Yes. The assistant operates within Cloud EDM governance controls. The assistant helps users understand, draft, and act on governed changes, while Cloud EDM continues to authorize, validate, route, approve, commit, and audit enterprise data changes.
Does the assistant bypass Cloud EDM request workflow, validations, approvals, or commit controls?
No. The assistant helps users interact with Cloud EDM change management more efficiently, but Cloud EDM remains the governed system for request submission, validation, approval, commit processing, transaction history, and audit tracking. AI assistance does not replace Cloud EDM governance controls.
Can the assistant upload files, screenshots, or attachments and convert them into request actions?
No. The Change Management Assistant does not support generating request actions from screenshots, spreadsheets, attachments, or uploaded files.
Cloud EDM continues to support file-based load and integration patterns through documented capabilities.
Can the assistant help with a request submitted before the current user joined?
Access to historical request information is governed by Cloud EDM permissions, data access policies, and request participation rules. The assistant cannot be used to access request content that the user cannot otherwise view in Cloud EDM.
As a result, users may not be able to interact with in-flight requests created before they became participants in the request process.
Is there an administrative assistant for Cloud EDM administrators?
Yes. The Application Registration Assistant helps owners accelerate registration of application artifacts, specifically node types that support dimension data chains within an application. See Generating Custom Properties from a Sample File.
The Change Management Assistant is not intended for administrative configuration tasks such as creating node types, configuring subscriptions, or managing security settings unless those capabilities are formally documented.
Future AI assistant capabilities may expand administrative metadata generation functionality.
Will the assistant support comparison use cases?
Not at this time. Comparison-related functionality is a potential future enhancement for the Change Management Assistant but is not currently supported unless formally documented.
