Validating Models 2.0

Validate your models from the Designer Mass Edit tab.

To validate your models:

  1. From the Home page, select Modeling, and then Designer.

  2. Click the Mass Edit tab.

  3. Optional: Refine the rules displayed by searching for and filtering rules. See Filtering Which Rules Are Displayed

You can validate all rule sets in the model, or just focus on a single rule set. You can also filter the validation by rule status to check just enabled or disabled rules.

    Tip:

If you have rules that are not yet complete, leave them disabled in the rule definition. You can then select those rules on the Mass Edit tab, click More Actions, and select Enabled to include only the enabled rules in the model validation. (See Creating an Allocation Rule Definition and Creating a Custom Rule Definition for information on enabling and disabling rules.)

  4. Click Validate Model.

Any errors or warning are displayed in the Errors and Warnings columns on the Mass Edit tab.

To view details about the errors and warnings, click More Actions, and then select View Validation Messages.

  5. Optional: If you have several errors and warnings, click Export icon, or click More Actions and select View Validation Messages to export the errors and warnings to an Excel spreadsheet You can use the Excel spreadsheet as a checklist as you go back to the Rule Designer to fix the errors. See and Working in Rule Designer 2.0 and Using the Designer 2.0 Mass Edit Tab.
  6. Continue fixing any errors and warnings in your rules and rule sets, until a message is displayed on the Mass Edit tab that the model was validated.

Mass Edit tab with a messaged saying the model was validated

Note:

You can also use the "Validate Model" REST API or the "validateModel" EPM Automate command to validate a model. See Validate Model in REST APIs for Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM and validateModel in Working with EPM Automate.
