Managing your Send Time Optimization add-on feature
Important: Send Time Optimization (STO) is an add-on feature that must be ordered for your account. Please contact your account manager or Oracle sales.
Send Time Optimization (STO) is an add-on feature for Responsys Express. Before marketers in your organization can use it, your organization must order it and you must use Oracle Cloud portal to enable it.
Enabling Send Time Optimzation
Enabling this add-on feature must be done by your organization's Oracle Cloud Account Administrator and Responsys Express Instance Administrator.
To enable STO:
-
If STO is part of your initial order, you can add STO when you are creating your Oracle Marketing Automation for Responsys and Eloqua service instance. See Step 3: Create your service instance in the Activate product subscriptions topic. When you get to step 3d, look for the option Oracle Marketing Automation Responsys Send Time Optimization Cloud Service. Type 1 in the field, and then continue with the steps to create the service instance.
-
If you ordered STO after you provisioned Oracle Marketing Automation for Responsys and Eloqua, see Adding resource allocations for details about how to log in to Oracle Cloud portal and modify a service environment to add the Oracle Marketing Automation Responsys Send Time Optimization Cloud Service.
Important: Send Time Optimization will not be available right away. It takes Oracle a few days (typically 1-3 business days) to complete the activation.
When you enable the STO feature for your account:
-
The standard Send Time Optimization attribute group for email is automatically created after you enable STO. The attribute group is called STO_Email_Basic Profile - WORKSPACE1. Its attributes are specific to the STO feature.
-
Responsys Express will automatically start updating data in the standard STO attribute group.
-
The Send Time Optimization stage is added to the Conditions section of the Campaign stage menu. Marketers can use it in their campaigns.
Disabling Send Time Optimzation
If you are up for renewals and you have chosen to downgrade the Oracle Marketing Automation Responsys Send Time Optimization Cloud Service add-on service, you must use the Oracle Cloud portal to remove resource allocations from the Oracle Marketing Automation for Responsys and Eloqua service environment.
IMPORTANT: Disable all downgraded add-on features before your order is submitted, so that your subscription matches what was entered in the ordering system. Otherwise, you may receive a quota breach notification. See Oracle Cloud portal Troubleshooting FAQ for information about what to do if you receive a quota breach notification.
Disabling this add-on feature must be done by your organization's Oracle Cloud Account Administrator and Responsys Express Instance Administrator.
To disable STO:
See Removing resource allocations for details about how to log in to Oracle Cloud portal and modify a service environment to remove Oracle Marketing Automation Responsys Send Time Optimization Cloud Service.
When you disable STO for your account:
-
Data updates of the standard STO attribute group will stop. Your campaigns can continue using the existing data, but the data will become progressively stale over time.
-
The Send Time Optimization stage is removed from the Conditions section of the Campaigns stage menu.
-
For campaigns that still have Send Time Optimization stages in them after the feature is disabled, the campaign routing will route all contacts to the "Without STO Data" path. You can update your affected campaigns to use a Condition Switch stage instead.
