Manually editing Profile List records

You can manually change Profile List records. You can use an upload file instead to upload in bulk or use Connect to import Profile List data. To change the opt-in status in bulk, see Changing Channel Status Records

To manually edit Profile List records:

  1. Click The Lists icon Data on the side navigation bar, and select Profile Lists. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Side navigation bar changes topic.)
  2. Select the list from the Change List drop-down.
  3. Click View Records.
  4. Select the checkbox next to the record you want to edit and click Edit.
  5. Make your changes and click Save. If you selected more than one record, use Next to move from one record to the next for editing. To retain your changes, you must click Save after finalizing each record.

Copying Profile List records

You can copy a Profile List record and create a new one.

To copy Profile List records:

  1. Click The Lists icon Data on the side navigation bar, and select Profile Lists. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Side navigation bar changes topic.)
  2. Click View Records.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the record you want to copy and click Edit.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. If needed, make any changes to the new record.
  6. Click Save.

Deleting Profile List records

When Profile List records are deleted, Oracle Responsys does the following:

  • Marks the record deleted. A system process permanently deletes the records at a set time daily.
  • Removes the data from any associated PET. A system process permanently deletes the PET records at a set time daily.
  • If applicable, removes the associated data from the App Channel List and the Web Push Channel List. A system process permanently deletes the records at a set time daily.
  • Permanently deletes associated App Channel List PET records and Web Push Channel List PET records. No system process is necessary.

Supplemental Data must be removed independently of profile data. Learn more about deleting this data. Use one of the following methods to manually delete records.

To delete records using the View Records page:

  1. Click The Lists icon Data on the side navigation bar, and select Profile Lists. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Side navigation bar changes topic.)
  2. Click View Records.

    The list of records in the Profile List opens.

  3. Select the checkbox for each record you want to delete. Click Find or Find Record to search for records.
  4. Click Delete.

Note: Only one page of records can be deleted at a time. To delete checked records spanning over pages, either expand your number of Lines per Page count, or use the find records option to refine your total number of selected and displayed records (described below).

To delete records using the List Records Editing page:

  1. In the View and Edit Data page, check the records you want to edit, copy, or delete.
  2. As an individual record is displayed, click Delete to permanently remove that record from your Profile List after confirming your request.
  3. Click Save after each deletion, and click Done when finished.

Deleting a Profile List

When you delete or reload a Profile List, you lose your behavior history data, unsubscribe data, spam responses and other valuable and irretrievable information. This will negatively affect campaigns that use the Profile List as well as compromise the accuracy of your reports. Learn more about managing records.

Warning: We do not recommend deleting Profile Lists.

All following items associated with the Profile List will be deleted:

  • Filters
  • Proof/Test groups
  • Segmentations
  • Profile Extension Tables
  • Load segments
  • List load histories

    Note: Associated SQL is not deleted, and you may edit it redirect to another Profile List. Supplemental Data must be removed independently of profile data. Learn more about deleting Supplemental Data.

To delete a Profile List:

  1. Click The Folders icon Folders on the side navigation bar, and select the folder containing the Profile List.
  2. Click next to the list to delete and select Delete.
