Feature Compatibility Check List
The following NetSuite features require special consideration to work with the NetSuite <> OpenAir integration:
Multiple Currencies
If you use more than one currency for business transactions, you may already have your OpenAir account, NetSuite account or both accounts configured to support multiple currencies. If you use multiple currencies in either OpenAir or NetSuite, enable and configure multiple currencies in both applications. See Enabling the Multiple Currencies Feature (external link to NetSuite SuiteAnswers — Answer ID: 7714) for more information about the Multiple Currencies feature in NetSuite, and Multicurrency for more information about the Multicurrency feature in OpenAir.
After you have enabled and configured multiple currencies in both NetSuite and OpenAir, you can use the exchange rate integration to:
-
Import exchange rates from NetSuite in to OpenAir daily so today’s exchange rates in OpenAir are the same as in NetSuite.
-
Support multiple base currencies for cross rates, if you have a NetSuite OneWorld account.
For more information, see Exchange rate integration.
Classic Revenue Recognition or Advanced Revenue Management
When you amortize revenue and set up rules for recognizing revenue on a project-by-project basis, you can exchange this information between OpenAir and NetSuite. OpenAir can export your OpenAir revenue recognition rules and revenue recognition transactions to NetSuite for use either with the classic revenue recognition features, available in older NetSuite implementations, or with the Advanced Revenue Management feature available in new NetSuite implementations.
The NetSuite integration supports both classic revenue recognition and the Advance Revenue Management feature using the following workflows:
-
Workflows used with NetSuite classic revenue recognition features:
Recognition Transactions (Revenue Recognition Transactions) Export Workflow
-
Workflows used with the NetSuite Advance Revenue Management feature:
-
Recognition Rules (Custom Record: OpenAir: Revenue Rules for ARM) Export Workflow
-
Recognition Transactions (Custom Record: OpenAir: Revenue Transactions for ARM) Export Workflow
Advanced Revenue Management currently supports the following OpenAir revenue recognition rules: As Billed, Fixed Amount on Date or Milestone, Fixed Amount % Complete, % Complete, Incurred vs. Forecast, and Time Project.
-
Classic revenue recognition features and Advanced Revenue Management are mutually exclusive in NetSuite. The two set of workflows listed above are also mutually exclusive.

For more information about revenue recognition in OpenAir, see Revenue Recognition.
Legacy Tax or SuiteTax
The NetSuite integration is compatible with the legacy Tax features.
The following OpenAir <> NetSuite integration workflows are compatible with the NetSuite SuiteTax feature:
-
Expense Reports (Expense Reports) Export Workflow, when expense reports are exported from OpenAir to NetSuite vendor bills.
-
Send OpenAir Credits (Negative Invoices) as NetSuite Credit Memos Export Workflow
Review the following guidelines:
-
Update NetSuite OpenAir SRP Integration bundle 369637 (previously 2851) to version 2.11 or later. With earlier versions, the tax amount calculated in NetSuite cannot be imported back into OpenAir if the SuiteTax feature is enabled for your NetSuite account.
-
When exporting OpenAir expense reports to NetSuite as expense reports using the Expense Reports (Expense Reports) export workflow, the tax details need to be entered manually in NetSuite when using the SuiteTax engine. See Entering Expense Reports with Tax Impact in SuiteTax (external link to NetSuite SuiteAnswers | Answer ID: 65664).
-
You should test the NetSuite <> OpenAir integration with the SuiteTax feature on sandbox accounts before you enable the feature on your NetSuite production account.
