Payment Automation
Payment Automation connects your QuickStart company to a BILL organization. After onboarding, QuickStart can create and synchronize eligible vendors in BILL and send eligible new vendor bills to that organization.
Payment Automation is available only when it is enabled for the account and your access profile includes the Payments automation setup permission. When either requirement is missing, the setting and its pages are not available.
Review setup status
Open Menu and select Payables > Settings > Payment Automation. The page can show these setup states:
- BILL organization is not created: Select Onboard to begin setup.
- Created: The BILL organization exists, but onboarding is incomplete. Select Continue onboarding.
- Onboarded: Onboarding was submitted successfully.
- Archived: The BILL organization is no longer available for configuration.
Payment Automation flow
-
Set up Payment Automation and complete the required BILL business verification.
-
Review the optional payment-run approval-routing step. Approval routing is configured in Administration settings.
-
Submit the onboarding process.
-
Review how new vendor bills are synchronized with BILL.
-
When Payment Automation setup is complete, create a draft payment batch from eligible vendor bills that are approved or do not require approval.
Creating a BILL payment batch in QuickStart saves the selected bills and payment details as a draft. It does not execute the payment. Complete payment processing in BILL after reviewing the synchronized records. Review the documented limitations before relying on synchronized records.
