Create a BILL payment batch
Create a draft BILL payment batch by selecting eligible vendor bills, their mapped GL bank account, and a payment date. Open Menu > Payables > Billing and select BILL payment batches. This workflow is available after Payment Automation is enabled and its setup is complete.
Before you begin
- Complete Payment Automation setup and link a BILL funding account to a QuickStart GL bank account.
- Synchronize the vendor with BILL.
- Create an eligible new vendor bill, and then review how to synchronize vendor bills with BILL. The vendor bill must receive a BILL bill ID when it is first created. Editing an existing vendor bill does not trigger synchronization.
- If the vendor bill requires approval, submit and approve it. A vendor bill that does not require approval is also eligible.
- Each bill must either be approved or not require approval. It must not be a draft or voided, must have an amount due and a due date, and must have a BILL bill ID. A bill already included in an active payment batch is not available.
- The payment date cannot be before the current date.
Create the payment batch
- Open Menu > Payables > Billing.
- Select BILL payment batches.
- Select Create BILL payment selection batch. The Pay bills with BILL page opens.
- In Mapped GL bank account, select the account linked to the BILL funding account that will fund the payment.
- In Payment date, enter today or a future date.
- In Bills in this payment batch, select Select items.
- Select at least one eligible vendor bill, and then select Apply.
- Review the read-only requested amount for each selected bill.
- Select Create.
QuickStart saves the batch with the Draft status. The selected vendor bills are not offered for another active batch. Creating the batch does not send or execute the payment in BILL.
