Assets
What are Assets?
Assets represent anything that can be serviced, such as equipment, property, infrastructure, livestock, vegetation, people, and are the focal point of all Field Service jobs.
The Asset feature lets you manage and report on Assets, so you can see relevant information and collect real-time data from technicians in the field. It adds an Asset record type and Asset fields to Transactions, Projects, Cases, and Tasks to associate work with specific assets.
Update Child Assets
This feature synchronizes field values from parent Asset records to its child Asset records. This makes it convenient to cascade changes from an Asset record down to all its children.
This feature is configured by specifying the fields that are to be inherited. By default, child Assets records will inherit field values for Customer, Address, Address Test, and Region.
When you submit a parent Asset record with changes to an inherited field, it schedules the NextService Scheduled : Asset scheduled script with script deployment id customdeploy_nx_asset
. Whenever you submit a child Asset record, it re-sources the inherited field values from its parent.
