Notes Tab

The Notes tab allows the user to record text notes relating to the selected task.

This tab contains two screens. One is known as the Add/Edit/Delete Note screen and the other as the Note List screen.

Add/Edit/Delete Note screen in detail

This screen allows the user to add/edit or delete notes.

Back button

To allow the user to navigate to the Notes List screen.

If there are already one or more saved notes for this task, then the Notes List screen is displayed.

If there are no saved notes for this task, then this button has no effect.

Toggle Selected Task Details Screen Visibility button

To allow the user access to functions on the Selected Task Details screen.

This button, positioned in the Control Bar, spans the entire width of the screen except where any other buttons are positioned.

Inside this button the creation date of the note is shown.

Delete Note button

To allow the user to delete a note that has already been saved to the cloud.

Deletes the current note from the cloud and then shows the Add/Edit/Delete Note screen with all data entry fields set to default values.

When viewing a note that has been saved.

Saving To Cloud indicator

To inform the user that the note is being saved to the cloud.

After the Save button has been pressed until the data has been saved to the cloud.

None

Discard Changes button

To allow the user to clear any changes that have been made within the Add/Edit/Delete Note screen.

Shows the alert below.

If the user presses OK on the alert, then Field Service Mobile reverts the contents of all data entry fields back to the previous values.

If no data has been saved to the cloud for the current note, then all data entry items will be set to default values.

If data has been saved previously for the current note, then all values revert to their previous values when the note data was last saved.

If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made.

Once changes are made to any of the data entry fields within the screen.

Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to discard your changes? OK. Cancel”.

Save button

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Add/Edit/Delete Note screen.

Saves all the data entered within the Add/Edit/Delete Note screen for the selected task.

Once both the Note Title text field and the Note Message text box contain valid values.

To allow the user to enter a title for the current note.

This screen allows the user to view all the notes that have been added for the current task.
