Quote Tab

The Quote tab allows the create a quote and email it to the person requesting the quote.

Also, if the quote is acceptable to the client, they can sign on the screen of the mobile device and the Field Service Mobile will create a sales order from the quote.

This tab contains three screens. One is known as the Add/Edit/Delete/View Quote Item screen, the next as the Quote Details screen and the last as the Quote List screen.

Quote Details screen in detail

This screen allows the user to collect all of the data to create a quote for a customer.

To allow the user to navigate to the Quote List screen.

If there are already one or more saved quotes for this task, then Field Service Mobile shows Quote List screen.

If there are no saved notes for this task, then this button has no effect.

Toggle Selected Task Details Screen Visibility button

To allow the user access to functions on the Selected Task Details screen.

This button, positioned in the Control Bar, spans the entire width of the screen except where any other buttons are positioned.

Inside this button, once a quote has been saved, the quote number is shown.

Shows the Selected Task Details screen.

Delete Note button

To allow the user to delete a quote that has already been saved to the cloud and has a status of Open.

Deletes the current quote from the cloud.

If, after the deletion, the selected task has one or more quotes saved then Field Service Mobile shows the Quote list.

If, after the deletion, the selected task has no quotes saved then Field Service Mobile shows the Quote Details screen with all data entry fields set to default values.

When viewing a quote that has been saved and the status for that quote is Open.

Saving To Cloud indicator

To inform the user that the quote is being saved to the cloud.

After the Save button has been pressed until the data has been saved to the cloud.

Discard Changes button

To allow the user to clear any changes that have been made within the Quote Details screen.

Shows the alert below.

If the user presses OK on the alert, then Field Service Mobile reverts the contents of all data entry fields back to the previous values.

If no data has been saved to the cloud for the current quote, then all data entry items will be set to default values.

If data has been saved previously for the current quote, then all values revert to their previous values when the note data was last saved.

If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made.

Once changes are made to any of the data entry items within the screen.

Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to discard your changes? OK. Cancel”.

Save button

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Quote Details screen.

Saves all the data entered within the Quote Details screen.

Once the Quote Item list contains one or more Quote Item List entry instances.

Add New Quote Item button

To allow the user to navigate to the Add/Edit/Delete/View Quote Item screen so that they may add a new quote item.

Shows the Add/Edit/Delete/View Quote Item screen with the data entry items set to default values.

When the current quote status is set to Open.

Quote Item list

To display all of the quote items for the current quote.

Quote Item List entry

To display the Item, Description, Quantity and Amount values for a particular quote item.

Displays the Add/Edit/Delete Quote Item screen with the data entry items set to the values of the current quote item.

When one or more quote items have been added for the current quote.

Total text display field

To show the total of the amount values for each quote item saved to the cloud plus any applicable tax.

If a quote item has not yet been saved to the cloud, then its value is as yet unknown, and its value will not be included in the total amount shown.

If a quote item has been edited by changing either the Item dropdown list contents or the Quantity text field contents in the Add/Edit/Delete Quote Item screen, then the previous value of the Amount text display field in the Quote Item List entry will be used in the total.

If a quote item has been deleted by using the Add/Edit/Delete Quote Item screen, then the previous value for the Amount text display field will be used in the total.

Once any changes are made as detailed above the user must save the data to the cloud using the Save button and wait for completion of this saving action for the Total text display field to be updated to the correct value.

Purchase Order Number text field

To allow the user to enter a purchase order number for the current quote.

When the value of the Status text display field of the current quote is Open.

If the Status text display field of the current quote is set to any value except Open, then the Purchase Order Number text field is replaced with a non-editable Purchase Order Number text display field filled with the value of the Purchase Order Number text field when the data was saved to the cloud.

Status text display field

Displays the status of the quote.

Send Mail checkbox

Allows the user to decide whether an email is sent to the address entered in the Email text field when the current quote is saved to the cloud.

Checked means that an email will be sent. Unchecked means that an email will not be sent.

When the value of the Status text display field of the current quote is Open.

If the Status text display field of the current quote is set to any value except Open, then the Send Mail checkbox is replaced with a non-editable Send Email text display field.

If the Send Mail checkbox was checked when the quote was saved to the cloud, then the Send Mail text display field is set to Yes.

If the Send Mail checkbox was unchecked when the quote was saved to the cloud, then the Send Mail text display field is set to No.

Email text field

Displays the default email address for the current case contact person.

However, if the user wants to, they can edit the contents of the Email text field.

When the value of the Status text display field of the current quote is Open.

If the Status text display field of the current quote is set to any value except Open, then the Email text field is replaced with a non-editable Email text display field filled with the value of the Email text field when the data was saved to the cloud.

Note:

This field will allow the user to type in any character. However, if the data entered does not form a valid email address the data will be deemed invalid and the Save button will not be available.

Apply To Current Job checkbox

Allows the user to decide whether the quote being created will be applied to the project and case of the selected task.

When the value of the Status text display field of the current quote is Open.

If the Status text display field of the current quote is set to any value except Open, then the Apply To Current Job checkbox is replaced with a noneditable Apply To Current Job text display field.

If the Apply To Current Job checkbox was checked when the quote was saved to the cloud then the Apply To Current Job text display field is set to Yes.

If the Apply To Current Job checkbox was unchecked when the quote was saved to the cloud, then the Apply To Current Job text display field is set to No.

Clear Signature Drawing Box button

Allows the user to clear the contents of the Signature drawing box.

Clears the contents of the Signature drawing box.

When the Signature drawing box contains data.

Signature drawing box

Allows the user to capture the customer’s signature to show that the customer has approved creating a sales order from the quote.

Add Quote Item button

Adds a new quote item for the current quote.

Adds a new quote item for the selected task and populates the Item dropdown list, Quantity text field and Description text field fields with default values.

Delete Current Quote Item button

Deletes the currently displayed quote item for the current quote.

Deletes the current sales order item and shows the Quote Details screen.

If the Status text field of the current quote has a value of Open.

Item Search button

To show the normally hidden Item Search text box to allow the user to type in a search query.

If the user presses on the Item Search button, then the Item Search text box slides out from the righthand side of the Item Search button allowing the user to type in a search query.

If the Status text field of the current quote has a value of Open.

If the Status text field of the current quote has a value other than Open, then the Item Search button will be hidden.

Item Search text field

To allow the user to enter a search query which will be used to show only matching items in the Item dropdown list making it easier and quicker to find the desired item.

As the user types the search query text in the Item Search text box the Item dropdown list changes to show the user how many items match the search query. Once the user has typed the query, they should press on the Item dropdown list to show the matching items.

If the Item Search button is visible and after the Item Search button has been pressed but the user has not pressed anywhere on the screen except for the Item Search button or Item Search text box.

Item dropdown list

To allow for the user to select from a list of items.

The list will be either the full list of all items in the system if the user has not entered a search query using the Item Search text box or a subset of all items in the system matching the search query if they have entered a search query.

If the Status text field of the current quote has a value other than Open, then the Item dropdown list will be replaced with an Item text display field.

Quantity text field

To allow the user to add a quantity for the current quote item in the current quote for the selected task.
