Transfer Order Tab

The Transfer Order tab allows the user order parts from another warehouse to be transferred into their local (van) warehouse location.

This tab contains three screens. One is known as the Transfer Order Details screen, the next as the Add/Edit/Delete/View Transfer Order Item screen and the last as the Transfer Order List screen.

Transfer Order Details screen in detail

This screen allows the user to collect all of the details for a new transfer order or edit the details for an existing transfer order.

Back button

To allow the user to navigate to the Transfer Order List screen.

If there are already one or more saved transfer orders for this task, then Field Service Mobile shows Transfer Order List screen.

If there are no saved transfer orders for this task, then this button has no effect.

Toggle Selected Task Details Screen Visibility button

To allow the user access to functions on the Selected Task Details screen.

Shows the Selected Task Details screen.

Delete Current Transfer Order button

To allow the user to delete a transfer order that has already been saved to the cloud and has a status of Open.

Deletes the current transfer order from the cloud.

If, after the deletion, the selected task has one or more transfer orders saved then Field Service Mobile shows the Transfer Order List.

If, after the deletion, the selected task has no transfer orders saved then Field Service Mobile shows the Transfer Order Details screen with all data entry fields set to default values.

When viewing a transfer order that has been saved and the status for that transfer order is Open.

Saving To Cloud indicator

To inform the user that the transfer order is being saved to the cloud.

None

After the Save button has been pressed until the data has been saved to the cloud.

None

Discard Changes button

To allow the user to clear any changes that have been made within the Transfer Order Details screen.

Shows the alert below.

If the user presses OK on the alert, then Field Service Mobile reverts the contents of all data entry fields back to the previous values.

If no data has been saved to the cloud for the current transfer order, then all data entry items will be set to default values.

If data has been saved previously for the current transfer order, then all values revert to their previous values when the note data was last saved.

If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made.

Once changes are made to any of the data entry items within the screen.

Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to discard your changes? OK. Cancel”.

Save button

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Transfer Order Details screen.

Saves all the data entered within the Transfer Order Details screen for the selected task.

Once the Transfer Order Item list contains one or more Transfer Order Item List entry instances and the Location dropdown box has a value other than Select.

Status display text field

To display the status of the current transfer order.

When the status of the current transfer order is set to Open.

Location dropdown list

To display all of the available locations to request items from.

To allow the user to navigate to the Add/Edit/Delete/View Transfer Order Item screen to add a new transfer order item.

Shows the Add/Edit/Delete/View Transfer Order Item screen with the data entry items set to default values.

When the status of the current transfer order is set to Open and the Save To Cloud indicator is not visible.

To display all of the transfer order items for the current transfer order.

Transfer Order Item list entry

To show the user the Item and Quantity fields of a particular transfer order item.

Also, to function as a button where, when the user presses on it, the Add/Edit/Delete/View Transfer Items screen is displayed.

Shows the Add/Edit/Delete/View Transfer Order Item screen with the fields showing the values for the current transfer order item.

If there are one or more files transfer order items added for the current transfer order.

Adds a new transfer order item for the current transfer order.

Adds a new transfer order item for the selected task and populates the Item dropdown list and Quantity text field with the default values.

Deletes the currently displayed transfer order item for the current transfer order.

Deletes the current transfer order item and shows the Transfer Order Details screen.

Item Search button

To show the normally hidden Item Search text box to allow the user to type in a search query.

If the user presses on the Item Search button, then the Item Search text box slides out from the righthand side of the Item Search button allowing the user to type in a search query.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value of Open.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value other than Open, then the Item Search button will be hidden.

Item Search text field

To allow the user to enter a search query which will be used to show only matching items in the Item dropdown list making it easier and quicker to find the desired item.

As the user types the search query text in the Item Search text box the Item dropdown list changes to show the user how many items match the search query. Once the user has typed the query, they should press on the Item dropdown list to show the matching items.

If the Item Search button is visible and after the Item Search button has been pressed but the user has not pressed anywhere on the screen except for the Item Search button or Item Search text box.

Item dropdown list

To allow for the user to select from a list of items that may be added to a transfer order.

The list will be either the full list of all items in the system if the user has not entered a search query using the Item Search text box or, or a subset of all items in the system matching the search query if they have entered a search query.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value of Open.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value other than Open, then the Item dropdown list will be replaced with an Item text display field.

Quantity text field

To allow the user to add a quantity for the current transfer order item in the current transfer order for the selected task.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value of Open.

If the Status text field of the current transfer order has a value other than Open, then the Quantity text field will be replaced with a Quantity text display field.

Note:

This field only allows the user to type numerals, decimal points or the letter “e”.

To be considered valid the value entered must not have a decimal point preceding another character or contain the letter “e”.
