Follow this procedure to create a WIP bin for Manufacturing Mobile.

To create a WIP bin for Manufacturing Mobile:

  1. Go to Lists > Supply Chain > Bins > New.

  2. On the Bin page, enter a Bin Number or code to help identify or locate the bin in your warehouse.

For example, you want to create a bin numbering nomenclature that uses aisle, pallet position, and level in the format aisle-pallet position-level.

You can name the bin A1-01-01 for the first aisle, first pallet position, and first level.

  3. To stage the quantity in a WIP bin, select WIP as the bin Type.

  4. Select the warehouse Location of this bin.

You cannot change the location after you save the bin record.

  5. To use the WIP bin to stage the picked component items, including the excess quantity, check the Use Bin in Manufacturing Mobile box.

During a WMS inventory transfer process, you can also transfer items to and from this WIP bin.

    Note:

To enable material picking and staging capabilities, you must check this box for new and existing Manufacturing Mobile work center staging bin records.

To update an existing Manufacturing Mobile work center staging bin record, go to Lists > Supply Chain > Bins. Beside the Bin Number for a staging (WIP) bin assigned to a work center, click Edit. Check the Use Bin in Manufacturing Mobile box, and then click Save.

  6. (Optional) To set other bin preferences on the bin record, see Creating Bin Locations or Carts.

  7. Click Save.
