Resolving a Build Failure

Follow this procedure to resolve a build failure. For example, if you enable backflush and do not set the Build Even if Components are Insufficient During Backflush preference, when components are unavailable in the staging bin, the build fails.

To resolve a build failure:

  1. Log into NetSuite with the Production Manager role.

  2. Go to Reports > Shop Floor Reports > View Work Messages.

Note the details in the following columns:

    • The Message Text column describes the context of the message.

    • The Severity column describes whether the message is an Error or a Warning.

    • The Source column describes where the message is from. For example, Build, Setup, Consumption, or Production.

For more information, see Manufacturing Mobile Work Messages.

  3. Beside your preferred work order, review the build failure message in the Message Text column.

For example, an error message from the build says, "The reported consumed serial number is not in the staging bin."

  4. Resolve the build failure based on the Message Text.

For example, if the reported consumed serial number is not in the staging bin, you must complete staging using WMS or NetSuite.

  5. Beside the work order, click View.

  6. On the Mfg Mobile – Work Messages page, click Work ID.

  7. (Optional) To validate and confirm whether the cause of the failure is addressed before the build is processed, click Validate Data.

Review any Manufacturing Mobile Work Messages.

  8. If there are no messages, then process the data by clicking End Work.
