Narrative Insights Overview

Narrative Insights uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) to provide concise summaries of supported reports and records. The feature helps you quickly identify the most relevant information and may surface trends, anomalies, risks, opportunities, or data gaps.

The Narrative Insights dialog displays a summary based on the content you're viewing. The structure, sections, and level of detail may vary depending on the report or record type and the available data. Insights may emphasize different aspects of the data or note when there is insufficient information to generate an insight.

The content may differ each time you generate an insight, even when viewing the same data. If there isn't enough data to generate an insight for the report or record, you may receive an error message.

Narrative Insights is available for accounts in supported locations and for users whose language preference is set to an English language. For more information, see Generative AI Feature Availability in NetSuite.

The Enable Narrative Insights preference on the AI Preferences page controls whether you can generate insights. This preference is enabled by default. Users with an Administrator role can disable this preference at any time. For more information about Narrative Insights preferences, see Managing Narrative Insights Preferences.

To generate an insight on a report or record:

  1. Open a supported report or record.

  2. Click the Generate Insight button. The Narrative Insights dialog is displayed.

You can generate the insight again at any time by clicking the Generate Insight button.

The Narrative Insights dialog displays a disclaimer. The message is as follows: "This content is automatically generated, and it may contain inaccuracies or omissions. It's intended for informational purposes only and shouldn't be considered professional advice. Always check AI-generated content for accuracy and quality."

Warning:

The content in the Narrative Insights dialog is generated using AI. The information provided may not be completely free of errors or fully accurate. You should verify the summary by reviewing the underlying reports and records. For questions about security, access permissions, or related topics, contact NetSuite Customer Support. Supported Reports

Narrative Insights is supported on a limited number of standard reports. Narrative Insights isn't supported on customized reports.
