What's New inAsk Oracle
These release notes describe Ask Oracle functionality. Ask Oracle is being made available to customers in phases in the coming months. When available, Ask Oracle can be enabled at the discretion of your account administrator, but it may not be available in your account yet.
This topic describes the enhancements made to Ask Oracle in each of the monthly releases for NetSuite 2026.2.

Improved Prompt Context and Chat Recovery in Ask Oracle
Ask Oracle provides a smoother experience when you build prompts and return to recent chats.
Use the context flow to add context, apply a skill, or work with an AI agent before you submit a prompt. Browse agents and skills without losing your prompt, selected context, or attachments. The available context, agent, and skill options depend on your role and account configuration. For details, see Ask Oracle in the Help Center.
When you reopen Ask Oracle within 15 minutes of closing it, it restores your previous chat. If you reopen it after 15 to 60 minutes, Ask Oracle gives you the option to return to the previous chat from history. If you reopen it after more than 60 minutes, Ask Oracle starts a new chat.
Discover Ask Oracle Features
Discover Ask Oracle features when you open a new chat session. New chats display spotlighted features with a brief description of their capabilities, helping you find new functionalities that can support you in your daily tasks.
Specify a Report in Ask Oracle Queries
Specifying a standard or custom report directs Ask Oracle to use that report as the query source when asking business questions. In addition to existing options for specifying a report by name, you can now enter the URL or a report ID when querying Ask Oracle.
Ask Oracle respects access roles and permissions. Users can access business information through Ask Oracle only when they have permission to access the relevant source report.
You can specify which report Ask Oracle should use in the following ways:

Specify the name of a report

Use the at symbol and the report name
@Income Statement
Ask: Was my net income positive for the last fiscal year, FY2025?

Click the plus icon to Add context

Ask: What inventory item was our best seller last month?

Include the URL of a report
Ask: Analyze the report at https://1234567.app.netsuite.com/next/report/230 and identify items that I should investigate.

Mention the ID of a report
Ask: Use report 325 to tell me the balance of the cash account as of March 2026.
Ask Oracle will provide a response that includes a link to view the source report. The response also includes a link to download a CSV export of the report data.

New Core Skills Available in Ask Oracle
New core skills are now available to invoke in Ask Oracle. Core skills are ready-to-use skills authored by NetSuite for common business workflows. These skills help you get to useful answers faster by applying a consistent analysis pattern for business tasks.
The following core skills are now available:

Inventory exceptions review - Finds instances of a common inventory exception and recommends corrective actions

Inventory movement insights - Analyzes item movement and the balance between demand and supply across locations

Narrative insights records - Summarizes concrete NetSuite records into factual narrative insights

Narrative insights reports - Summarizes eligible NetSuite legacy reports into factual narrative insights

Supply chain persona based responses - Provides read-only supply chain and inventory analysis and recommendations tailored to the audience and decision timeframe

Ask Oracle Job Details
See how Ask Oracle is answering your prompt. When your request includes multiple tasks, Ask Oracle can complete them as separate jobs and combine the results. Open the task menu at the top right of Ask Oracle to see the list of in progress or completed jobs. Click on a job to review its reasoning and outcome. Ask Oracle combines results from completed tasks into one response.
The jobs menu is available when Ask Oracle uses jobs to complete your request.
Ask Oracle Supports Uploading More Document Types
Use Ask Oracle to upload a document and ask questions about its content. Ask Oracle supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, PDF, TXT, CSV, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, and PPTX documents. By uploading document you can summarize information, extract details, and get help understanding the information in the document.
Open Ask Oracle, attach a supported document type, and enter your prompt. Ask Oracle supports one document per chat turn. Administrators enable this feature for specific roles and it requires upload access to the file cabinet.
Select an Ask Oracle Effort Level
Before you send Ask Oracle a prompt, set an effort level that suits the complexity of your request. The selected level helps Ask Oracle apply an appropriate amount of effort when it responds. Choose auto, the default setting, to let Ask Oracle assess the complexity of your request. Alternatively, set the effort level manually by choosing between low, medium, high, or maximum.
