Automatic Approvals
Records get automatically approved when any of these conditions are met:
-
If an approval rule has the Use Employee Limit (Apply if Higher than Record Amount Limit) setting checked, the system automatically approves the record when:
Record Type
Condition
Journal Entry
The submitter’s journal entry limit is higher than the journal amount.
Purchase Order
If there’s an employee in the Employee field, their purchase limit is higher than the transaction amount.
If there’s no value in the Employee field, the submitter’s purchase limit is higher than the transaction amount.
Requisition
The submitter’s purchase limit is higher than the estimated total requisition amount.
The estimated total requisition amount is within the Record Amount Limit.
Sales Order
The submitter’s sales order entry limit is higher than the transaction amount.
Vendor Bill
The vendor entry limit for the user or record submitter is equal to or greater than the transaction amount.
Also, a vendor bill record gets automatically approved if the workflow finds it doesn’t need approval based on the set of exceptions.
-
If an approval rule has the Record Amount Limit (Require Approval for Amounts Over) setting checked, any record gets automatically approved when the transaction amount is less than the Record Amount Limit.
For journal entries, if the amount is greater than the Record Amount Limit, the record is routed for approval. But if the Use Employee Limit (Apply if Higher than Record Amount Limit) setting is also checked and the employee’s journal entry limit is higher than the record amount, the journal gets automatically approved.
