Setting Approvers' Access to Subsidiaries for SuiteApprovals

Note:

Applicable to NetSuite OneWorld only.

By default, a role's access is restricted to the user's subsidiary. This means that the role can only access their own subsidiary. However, if an employee is assigned a role that has access to the approval rule's subsidiary, then that employee can be added as an approver.

You must set corresponding access to subsidiaries for each employee in your organization who needs to approve records across subsidiaries.

To set an approver’s access to subsidiaries:

  1. Review the approver’s assigned role or roles.

    1. Go to Lists > Employees > Employees.

    2. Click the View link for the employee record.

    3. Click the Access subtab.

    4. Under the Roles subtab, review the employee’s assigned role or roles.

  2. Customize the employee’s role or roles to set role access to subsidiaries.

For guidelines and procedures, refer to Customizing or Creating NetSuite Roles and Restricting Role Access to Subsidiaries (OneWorld Only).

  3. Assign each of the custom roles to the employee. For more information, read Assigning Roles to an Employee.
