Employee and Payroll Features
If you're an Administrator, you can enable these features on the Employees subtab of the Enable Features page.
To use some of these features, you'll need SuitePeople HR or SuitePeople U.S. Payroll set up on your account. For more information, see SuitePeople Overview.

Define and manage time-off plans according to company policies and assign them to employees by location, department, class, or subsidiary. |
Employee Change Requests |
Manage change approvals for the employee record. Managers can create employee change requests for their direct reports and send them through approval in the Employee Center. |
Termination Reason Tracking |
Specify various termination details on the employee record. If Workforce Analytics is enabled, you can get a snapshot and synopsis of employees leaving your company and why they on the Turnover Analysis page (Reports > Employees/HR). |
Basic Government-Issued ID Tracking |
Track various government-issued IDs for your employees. You can enable either Basic or Advanced Government-Issued ID Tracking, but not both. |
Advanced Government-Issued ID Tracking |
Create, edit, and delete custom types of government-issued IDs to match your company’s employee identification policies. You can enable either Basic or Advanced Government-Issued ID Tracking features, but not both. |
Workforce Analytics |
Measure and analyze your company's headcount, hiring, and turnover trends. To open the Turnover Analysis page (Reports > Employees/HR), make sure the Termination Reason Tracking box is checked. |
Employee Center Dashboard Publishing |
Set up default dashboard portlets and layout for the Employee Center, including a manager dashboard, and publish them to users. Create news items for Employee Center dashboards, and limit who sees them by location or manager. |
Performance Management (SuitePeople HR) |

Let your employees give each other recognition for accomplishments, achievements, and milestones. |
Performance Management |
Manage performance with goals and reviews. Use NetSuite data to track progress, and assign reviews to individual employees or groups. |

Expense Reports |
Track employee expenses and turn them into bills.
Note:
Enabling this feature creates system-generated Unapproved Expense Reports, Advances Paid, and Accounts Payable accounts. |
Approval Routing |
Set up an approval hierarchy required to process expense reports and purchase requests. If you don't enable this feature, each expense report or purchase request automatically goes to the employee's supervisor and then to accounting. When you enable this feature, extra steps after an employee enters an expense report or purchase request depend on their expense or purchase limit. Some other criteria include who their supervisor or approver is, and the approval limit of that supervisor or approver. |
Per-Employee Billing Rates |
Check this box to set up billing classes that set billable time rates when employees charge different rates for the same service. If you link a billing class to an employee and set rates on a service item, the right rate will default when billing customers for time tracking. |
Billing Rate Cards |
Set different rates for groups of billing classes. |
Purchase Requests |
Let employees enter purchase requests online. |
Time Tracking |
Let employees record their work hours. If you're using products other than NetSuite CRM+, you can:

NetSuite CRM+ users can't record billable time, invoice customers for it, or record time for payroll items. |
Weekly Timesheets |
Track employee time with weekly timesheets.
Important:
You need Time Tracking to use Weekly Timesheets. |
New Weekly Timesheets Interface |
Enable a new interface for your weekly timesheets with column headings, fixed time entry columns, and a memo popup for each entry.
Important:
You need both Time Tracking and Weekly Timesheets to use the new interface. |
Time Tracking for CRM |
Track time for cases, tasks, and events. When you enable this, a Time subtab appears on case, task, and event records. |
Commissions |

Create schedules to calculate commissions for sales representatives and their managers, and pay commissions when they're earned.

Enabling this feature creates a system-generated Commissions Payable account. |
Commission on Custom Fields |
Create custom transaction column fields as the basis for commission schedules. They must be currency type and can use any standard or custom currency amount field. |
Permissions |

Global Permissions |
Enable direct permission assignments to employees and roles. When this is on, you'll see a Global Permissions subtab on the Access tab for each employee record. |
Advanced Employee Permissions |
Check this box to use extra employee permissions. These let administrators control which fields and sublists are available to each role, and these changes apply to most parts of NetSuite. Before enabling this feature, review Before Enabling the Advanced Employee Permissions Feature. |
