Top Level Costs Subtab
The Top Level Costs subtab provides a breakdown of the costs of the assembly by cost type. You can view and analyze cost breakdown for manufacturing operations on this subtab. The details can help you understand the cost of each manufacturing operation involved in producing the item.
The following table provides details about the fields in the Top Level Costs subtab.
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Total Assembled Cost |
Total assembled cost calculates based on the sum of material cost and conversion cost of the end assembly item. |
Assembled Cost per Unit |
Assembled cost of a single unit of the end assembly item. |
The following table provides details about the columns in the Top Level Costs subtab.
Column Name |
Description |
---|---|
Operation |
The sequence of the operation in the routing. |
Operation Name |
Name of the operation sequence. |
Item Name |
Component item name. |
Material Costs |
Cost of materials as per the selected material cost source to produce the final assembly. |
Labor Run |
Cost of labor run to produce the final assembly. |
Labor Run Overhead |
Cost of labor overhead to produce the final assembly. |
Labor Setup |
Cost of labor setup to produce the final assembly. |
Labor Setup Overhead |

Total cost to produce the final assembly. |
For more information about the conversion cost calculations for top level costs, see Conversion Cost Calculations for Top Level Costs and Fully Exploded Costs Subtabs.
The following information is applicable to both Top Level Costs and Fully Exploded Costs subtabs:
-
When a subassembly is not associated with a default routing, the conversion cost is populated as 0. This calculation is based on the unavailability of a default routing for the subassembly. The conversion cost will remain 0 even if there are other routing options for the subassembly, but are not marked as default.
-
The assembly item is displayed with the conversion cost when the following two conditions are true:
-
The subassembly does not have any component in the revision.
-
Default routing is associated with the item.
The material cost will be 0 and on expanding the assembly item, no components will be displayed.
-
-
The assembly item displays conversion cost as zero when the following two conditions are true:
-
The subassembly does not have an effective bill of materials or revision.
-
Default routing is associated with the item.
-
-
If a Operation is not defined for a component in the Component Per Operation subtab of a routing record, the first operation will be considered for that component.
