Dropping Shifts

If the Drop Shifts feature is enabled in your account, employees can initiate a drop shift request in the SuitePeople Workforce Management phone app if they cannot make their shift.

To initiate a shift drop, the employee will click on their scheduled shift in the SuitePeople Workforce Management phone app and click the Drop button. The employee will be prompted to enter a reason and will be notified that this shift is still their until the manager approves the drop. After they enter the reason, they will click Request.

The manager will then receive a trade notification in the SuitePeople Workforce Management app. They can review the reason for the request and then deny the rrquest by clicking No or pre-approve the employee's drop and find a fill in by clicking Fill.

Note:

By default, the Drop Pre-Approval feature is enabled. If this feature is off, managers do not need to approve the dropped shift. The dropped shift will automatically send a request to all available employees. When an employee picks up the shift, the manager will be notified to approve or deny the this change. This configuration can be changed by going to Setup > Adi phone app.
