Override China VAT Split Rule

Overview

When issuing VAT Invoices, transactions are split automatically to conform with the China Golden Tax System. By default, VAT Invoices are split using two rules:

This can be changed when creating an invoice, entering a cash sale, issuing a credit Memo, or refunding a cash sale.

Override China VAT Split Rule

The following describes the steps to override the VAT Split Rule while making a transaction.

Setting a VAT Split Rule when creating an Invoice:

  1. Create a transaction.

    • For invoices, go to Transactions > Sales > Create Invoice.

    • For credit memos, go to Transactions > Customers > Issue Credit Memos.

    • For refunding cash sales, go to Transactions > Customers > Refund Cash Sales.

    • For cash sales, go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Cash Sales.

  2. Complete the form as needed.

  3. In the China VAT subtab, select a rule from the VAT Split Rule dropdown.

    • Split Rate - This splits the unit price of the transaction line.

    • Split Quantity - This splits the quantity of the transaction line and keeps the unit price.

  4. Click Save.
