Email Notification Stages

SuiteApprovals generate email notifications to specific recipients in the following workflow stages:

Rule Uses Employee Hierarchy

Rule Uses Approval Matrix

Record is created or submitted

An email approval request is sent to the Next Approver (or the submitter’s Supervisor) and to the Delegate Approver if one is designated by the next approver or supervisor.

An email approval request is sent to the first approver in the matrix. If the approver has a delegate, then a duplicate email is sent to the Delegate Approver.

If the first approver is any of the following types: Group (Any), Group (All), Role (Any), and Role (All), the email approval request is sent to multiple employees.

Note:

Any email address specified on the group record is not used as recipient.

The record creator or submitter is identified as email sender.

The record creator or submitter is identified as email sender.

Record is rejected

An email notification is sent to the submitter.

An email notification is sent to the submitter.

Record is approved

An email notification is sent to the submitter.

An email notification is sent to the submitter.

Record is routed

An email approval request is sent to the Next Approver (or the submitter’s Supervisor) and to the Delegate Approver if one is designated by the next approver or supervisor.
