Email Notification Stages
SuiteApprovals sends email notifications to specific people at these workflow stages:

Record is created or submitted |
The next approver (or the submitter’s supervisor) and their delegate approver, if there's one, get an email approval request. |
The first approver in the matrix gets an email approval request. If the approver has a delegate, the delegate gets a copy of the email. If the first approver is a group or role, the email approval request is sent to multiple employees.
Note:
The system doesn't send emails to the group record's email address. |
The person who created or submitted the record appears as the email sender. |
The person who created or submitted the record appears as the email sender. |

The submitter gets an email notification. |

Record is approved |

Record is routed |
