Alternate Sales Amounts
The Alternate Sales Amount (ASA) feature lets you track alternate sales amounts. These amounts appear on sales orders, estimates, and opportunities that you can use to calculate commission, track sales forecasts, and establish quotas.
Following are some examples of when you could use ASA:
-
Your company recognizes annualized, monthly, or quarterly GAAP revenue. With ASA and the Revenue Recognition feature, use custom code to calculate how much of a sales amount NetSuite recognizes in this period.
-
You calculate commission and measure quotas on gross profit. You can add a custom field to item records for the average cost of the item. On your transactions, you use custom code to calculate the difference between the sales price and the item's average cost. You create commission schedules based on Alternate Sales Amounts or percent of ASA quota fulfilled.
