Bank Feeds Setup Considerations
Before you set up bank feeds in NetSuite, review the following requirements, limitations, and transaction timing considerations:
-
Supported setup and account types:
-
Before you set up your bank connection, contact your financial institution to make sure your bank or credit card account is authorized for a bank feed connection.
-
You can use only the preinstalled records with the Bank Feeds SuiteApp. Using custom format profiles that don't use the SuiteApp's standard connectivity plug-ins and transaction parsers may cause errors during setup or upgrades. If you need to connect using Yodlee and the preinstalled Yodlee profile isn't available in your account, you can manually create the Yodlee format profile using the connectivity plug-in and transaction parser from the Bank Feeds SuiteApp.
-
Don't use preinstalled Bank Feeds format profiles with custom financial institutions. Use preinstalled Bank Feeds format profiles only with the matching preinstalled Bank Feeds records. Otherwise, NetSuite might skip required updates and the installation or upgrade may fail.
-
Don't rename the preinstalled Bank Feeds records. The Bank Feeds SuiteApp uses the financial institution record name during installation and upgrades to apply required updates. If you rename the preinstalled financial institution record, or if a custom financial institution record includes Bank Feeds in its name, NetSuite might skip required updates and the installation or upgrade may fail.
-
The Bank Feeds SuiteApp supports only certain bank or payment accounts. If you select an unsupported account type (such as a loan, mortgage, or investment account), bank feeds may not work as expected.
-
Not every financial institution connection works the same way, and the Bank Feeds SuiteApp can't always access every financial institution reliably. Several factors can affect whether the Bank Feeds SuiteApp connects to your financial institutions, including factors outside the control of NetSuite.
-
-
Transaction availability and timing:
-
NetSuite imports only posted transactions. The system doesn't import pending transactions that your financial institution hasn't cleared for posting.
-
Posting and availability of transactions for importing depends on your financial institution. Some transactions may show up on your financial institution's website but can't be downloaded until they're completely posted to your account.
-
If you notice missing transactions, wait at least 24 hours. Your financial institution posting schedule might not match your time zone.
-
Some financial institutions in Asia and New Zealand handle pending transactions differently. To avoid duplicate transactions, the Account Information Service Provider (AISP) waits 3-4 days before updating the transaction status to Posted. This may delay bank transaction imports.
