Quick Events

This page is accessed via Business Process Automation > Power Data > Status > Quick Events.

Quick events allow you to enter an event for a shipment quickly into Oracle Transportation Management. Quick Events let you predetermine a status and reason for when an event occurs, the stop number it is for and any saved queries it needs to perform. If you do not set up Quick Events, you need to enter the event as you would a normal shipment tracking event.

Shipment events describe activity on shipments and shipment groups. Enter shipment events to inform planners, shippers, order owners, and other involved parties about actions related to a shipment or shipment group.

Depending on what event type you enter, Oracle Transportation Management changes shipment status, shipment dates, and raises events for the shipment. The status and reason you define describe the event and a reason that the action has happened.

  1. Enter a Quick Event ID that distinguishes it from other Quick Events.
  2. Enter a Responsible Party.
  3. Select the appropriate Status Group, as well as the appropriate Status Code below it.
  4. Based on your status selections, options appear for you to select a Reason Group, as well as a Reason Code below that.
  5. Enter the Shipment Stop Number or use a Saved Query to return a Shipment Stop Number.
