Mail Senders

This page is accessed via Business Process Automation > Power Data > Mail Management > Mail Senders.

In Transportation and Global Trade Management, only the email addresses or domains registered through this interface are valid to be used as From addresses.

If you want to register all senders from a domain that has been added to DKIM, add the domain as a sender using the “@ ” format. Note that this domain must be fully compliant with DKIM security. The details for this process can be found in the "Configuring DKIM" section of the Administration Guide.

Note: If you do not want to register you own mail senders, you can use Oracle pre-approved senders in an Oracle domain. See the "Using a Common Approved Sender Email Address" section of the Cloud Administration Guide.

Note: The mail sender or domain cannot be from a public domain such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, or yahoo.com. Use a domain local to your organization for mail senders.

The Email Address column displays the approved mail sender's email addresses.

The states indicate if the email addresses have been processed by OCI and are available to be used.

  • Creating: Submitted to OCI. You cannot use an email address in this state.
  • Active: Available for use.

The Created column shows when the address was created.

The Owner column displays the owner/creator of the mail sender. This is currently "Account" as standard configuration only displays Mail Senders owned by this cloud account.

The Domain column shows the owner/creator of the mail domain. This may be:

  • Account: The cloud account owns the domain
  • Organization: Another cloud account in the organization owns the domain
  • Common: The cloud account has been registered for common approved senders
  • Unknown: There is a problem with the mail domain. This can only happen when the current organization does not properly own the mail domain. This requires intercession by OPS.
  •  None: The mail domain has not been added. We recommend, but do not require, mail domain registration for every mail sender. Without it, SPF and DKIM checks may stop successful mail delivery.

The SPF column contains information about Sender Policy Framework (SPF) tests with the following results:

  • Green check: SPF checks have passed for this email domain.
  • Yellow warning: SPF validation has not been checked or SPF records do not exist for this email domain.
  • Red error: SPF checks for this email domain are not passing. This is typically due to a soft or hard bounce.

The DKIM column contains the results of a different mail security test, DomainKeys Identified Mail. The result indicators are similar to SPF:

  • Green check: DKIM is active for this email domain and mail content will be signed.
  • Yellow warning: DKIM has not been checked for this email domain.
  • Red error: DKIM is incorrectly configured for this email domain. Mail content will not be signed.

The Validated column shows the last time the email address was validated, whether successful or not.

The Validate button will validate or re-validate all the email addresses at the associated domain.

The Remove button will remove a mail sender from Oracle Mail. Note that outbound email from that sender will then fail.

Adding a Mail Sender

This adds a mail sender to Oracle Mail.

  1. Click Add to add an email address.
  2. Enter an Email Address or domain. If you enter a domain, using the “@domain” format, all email addresses associated with that domain will be considered valid senders. Also, the domain must be fully compliant with DKIM security as described above. The mail sender or domain cannot be from a public domain such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, or yahoo.com. Use a domain local to your organization for mail senders.
  3. Click Add.

If this operation fails, it could be because:

  • You have already added the mail sender.
  • Another organization has already added this mail sender. Only one organization can manage a single mail sender. Contact Support to resolve this situation.
  • It is an incorrectly formatted email address.
  • It is an email address from a public domain such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, or yahoo.com.
