Generate Shipments

This page is accessed via Operational Planning > Schedule Management > Ground Schedule > Actions > Generate Shipments.

Use the Generate Shipments action to generate static and dynamic trips for a certain time period. Trips are empty shipments for a predetermined route that can have order releases moved to them. This action is what creates those empty shipments. When selected, another page opens which allows you to define a time period.

If you are scheduling shipments after the Schedule Cutoff Time, the check box Use the schedule's last cutoff time as From Date as available is selected by default. (This check box only displays if generating after the schedule cutoff date.) When selected, Oracle Transportation Management uses the schedule's last cutoff time as the start time.

If there is a cutoff date and a Duration (in days), the number of duration days is added to the cutoff date for a new cutoff date. Therefore, a cutoff date of May 27, 2009 and a Duration (days) of 2, would have a cutoff date of May 29, 2009.

Additionally, you can use the From Date and To Date fields to define the time period.

Click OK after entering information on this page. The next page opens showing the number of shipments expected. Click Continue. The Ground Schedule Results page opens showing the results.
