The InfiniBand network is specific to Oracle Private Cloud Appliance configurations with an InfiniBand-based network architecture.
The InfiniBand network is internal to the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance. You should not create additional connections to this network.
In systems built around the physical connectivity of the NM2-36P Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Expansion Switch and the Oracle Fabric Interconnect F1-15, InfiniBand interfaces are the default channel of communication among compute nodes and storage controller servers. If you are connecting the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance to existing or additional storage hardware on the same InfiniBand fabric, the interface enables communication between the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance and the storage devices.
Table A.4 lists the default InfiniBand IP addresses assigned to hardware components in your Oracle Private Cloud Appliance.
Note that some IP addresses within this subnetwork are reserved for the addition of external InfiniBand storage appliances. These IP addresses are described in Section 8.2.3.1, “Connecting InfiniBand Storage Hardware” in the section Section 8.2.3, “Adding External InfiniBand Storage”.
