Using the SCADA Summary
The SCADA Summary provides the current values and qualities of all mapped SCADA measurements in Oracle Utilities Network Management System. Each row of this summary represents one measurement. There may be multiple unique measurements on one SCADA device. SCADA information includes digital and analog measurements, along with the quality codes and any user comments for each measurement. You can use the summary to view measurement information, manually replace current SCADA values, and inhibit updates.
This section includes the following topics:
Understanding the SCADA Summary Window
The SCADA Summary may be opened to view all SCADA measurements or for measurements related to a device or feeder selected in the Viewer. The SCADA Summary displays the following fields and buttons:
The Feeder column contains the name of the feeder reporting the SCADA measurements.
The Substation column contains the substation name.
The Device column contains the name of the device reporting the SCADA measurements.
The Value column contains the last reported measurement value. The value can be status, digital, or analog. For status measurements, the values are displayed as a test pair, such as open/close, on/off, and so on. Analog and digital values are shown as floating point and integer values.
The Quality column contains the Quality codes for the measurement that indicates the quality of the SCADA measurement (for example, out of scan, inhibited, manual override). Several quality codes can be listed.
The Point Name column displays the name of the SCADA measurement, as used in the SCADA system.
The Attribute column contains a description of the measurement type, as configured in the ATTRIBUTES.description column in the Oracle Utilities Network Management System database for the matching attribute.
Depending on your system's configuration, you may have the ability to enter comments when manually changing SCADA status (for example, Inhibit, Manual Override, or Disabled in Power Flow). See Adding and Modifying Comments for SCADA Status Changes for more information.
If this feature is configured, you will see the following columns:
The Comments column contains the text of a comment entered when changing device status.
The User column displays the name of the user who entered/modified comments when changing the device status.
The Date column displays the date and time when the comment was entered or modified.

Inhibit
Inhibit sets the inhibit quality code for the selected SCADA measurement. This suppresses any new updates from SCADA.
Cancel Inhibit
Cancel Inhibit removes the inhibit quality code from the selected SCADA measurement. This allows any new updates from SCADA to be displayed.
Manual Entry...
Manual Entry allows you to enter a new value for the selected SCADA measurement. When a changed SCADA value is received by the system, it replaces the manually entered value.
Manual Override...
Manual Override allows you to enter a new value for the selected SCADA measurement. When a new SCADA value is received by the system, the measurement is blocked and the manually entered value remains.
Cancel Override
Cancel Override cancels the manual override for the selected measurement and reverts the selected measurement to the last received value from the SCADA system.
Disable in Power Flow
Disable in Power Flow disables the selected measurements from being included in the power flow solution.
Enable in Power Flow
Enable in Power Flow re-enables the selected disabled measurements in the power flow solution.
Reverse Polarity
Reverse Polarity sets the Reversed (r) quality code on the measurement, which then negates the value, to improve power flow calculations. Note that any subsequent manual entries and manual overrides will also be negated, as if they were SCADA readings.

Undo Reverse Polarity
Undo Reverse Polarity undoes the Polarity Reversal and reverts to the last received SCADA value.

Edit Comment...
Edit Comment allows you to modify an existing comment for the selected measurement. See Adding and Modifying Comments for SCADA Status Changes for more information.

Control Tool
Brings up the control tool for the selected measurement's device.
Trend Graph
Trend Graph for selected attributes. Up to nine attributes for the same device can be displayed on the same trend graph as long as they have no more than two distinct units of measure (for example, Amps and kV).
View...
View focuses the Viewer on the device.
Navigate to SCADA
If configured, submenu options open windows in the native SCADA application (currently supported by OSI). For more information, see OSI SCADA Integration.

Load Feeder
Loads additional data for all SCADA measurements on a feeder when the SCADA Summary is displaying device data.
Note: This option is only available when the SCADA Summary is launched from the Control Tool.

Load Substation
Loads additional data for all substation measurements when the SCADA Summary is displaying device or feeder data.
Note: This option is only available when the SCADA Summary is launched from the Control Tool.

Load Adjacent Sub
Loads additional data for adjacent substations.
Note: This option is only available when the SCADA Summary is launched from the Control Tool.

Load All
Repopulates the SCADA Summary with all measurements. This clears any device, feeder, or substation filters; see Viewing SCADA Data for a Selected Device.
