Can I remove a visit from a subject's schedule?
Currently, Oracle Clinical One Platform doesn't support true deletion or removal of visits from a subject's schedule once created. However, there are several approaches you can take to manage visits that should no longer be present, depending on the visit type and study configuration.
Note:
Before clearing data, ensure all relevant queries are closed.Visit type | Action steps | Result |
---|---|---|
Dynamic visit | Clear data and update the triggering value. | If "untriggered", the visit may be hidden. |
Scheduled visit | Clear data and skip the visit (if allowed). | The visit is marked as skipped or left incomplete. |
Unscheduled visit (including adverse events) | Clear data. | Visit remains in the subject's scheduled, but is incomplete. |
Other visits | Depending on the context, include a comment for clearing data in all associated forms of a visit. | Useful for audit trail purposes. |
Remove a dynamic visit (scheduled or unscheduled)
- Open the dynamic visit and clear all data entered in the associated forms. You must first clear any dependant fields before you can "untrigger" the dynamic visit.
For step-by-step guidelines on how to clear data, see Clear form data.
- Since the visit was created based on a dynamic (triggering) question response, update or clear the value of the triggering question. This action "untriggers" the visit, which may hide it from the subject's schedule, provided all associated data as been cleared first.
For step-by-step guidelines, see Update the answer to a dynamic question.
Remove a scheduled visit
- Open the scheduled visit and clear all entered data in the associated forms.
For step-by-step guidelines on how to clear data, see Clear form data.
- If skipping is allowed by study design you may use the Skip this Visit action, providing a reason for skipping. The visit is marked as skipped in the subject's schedule, but not removed.
For step-by-step guidelines, see Mark a visit that a subject misses as skipped.
- If skipping the visit is not allowed, clearing the data in the associated forms is the only available action.
Tip:
If appropriate, on the visit's page, expand the Comment sidebar and enter a comment when performing these actions for audit purposes. This helps document why data was cleared or why the visit was skipped.Remove an unscheduled visit
Besides clearing data in the associated forms of an unscheduled visit, no further removal actions are available. Once data is cleared from an unscheduled visit, it remains listed in a subject's schedule, but with no data present, and the status is set as Incomplete.
The same workflow applies to adverse events.
