5 Locations and Sub-locations

Business locations, or stores, represent physical or virtual storefronts where the transaction originated. Each one must be assigned to a business account. Once a location is linked to an account, it is referred to as a payment location. You can only view locations you are permitted to see and you must have the correct privileges to manage the business account and see the locations page.

The Locations page shows all locations, regardless of whether they are linked to a business account or not. You can drill down into a Business Account to see all locations that are linked to the account, meaning that they are payment locations.

• From the Business Accounts page, click the business account you want to view locations for, click Locations to see all those that are assigned to the business account.

• The Locations page is where you can view all locations, their status, payment location (whether it is linked to a business account or not), and whether they have sub-locations and terminals assigned.

• The search bar lets you filter locations. For example, you can search for all unassigned locations.

• You can define a business day from the Locations page, including specifying the hours and also whether the day should be counted when the transaction is received or fulfilled. See Define a Business Day for the Organization and Define a Business Day for a Location for more details.

• You can view locations if you have the Add/Update Business Accounts privilege. There are several statuses listed here including:

  • Status
  • Incomplete: a location or sub-location address details are incomplete and must be resolved. A payment location can’t create a store until this is complete.
  • Unassigned: a location and all of its sub-locations are not linked to a business account.
  • Active: a location that is linked to a business account or at least one of its sub-locations is linked to a business account. It can now process payments.
  • Inactive: a location or sub-location has been inactivated. If it is a payment location, then no payments can be made, but modifications such as refunds are still allowed.

Each action you can take within the Locations page, like adding a location or reassigning one, requires certain privileges. These privileges are defined at the beginning of each section.
