Supported Linux Operating Systems

The Oracle Servers X7-2 and X7-2L support the following Linux operating systems at the initial release of the servers.

Linux OS Version Edition Oracle Linux Oracle Linux 6.9 and 7.3 OS for x86 (64-bit) with the Oracle Unbreakable Kernel Release 4 Note -  Optionally, you can install the Red Hat Compatible Kernel on Oracle Linux 6.9 and 7.3 OS for x86 (64-bit).

If a Linux OS is intalled on your server but you do not want to use it, you can install any other supported operating system or virtual machine software on your server. The Linux Hardware Certification List (HCL) identifies the latest operating system versions supported on Oracle hardware.
