Attach the Rack Slides to the Rack

1. Identify the prerequisite and subsequent installation tasks that you must perform in conjunction with this procedure.

   See Installation Task Overview.

2. Gather these components.

   • Rack slide assembly (2)

   • CMA assembly

   • M6 cage nuts (12)

   • M6x14 mm Philips screws (10)

3. Install the cage nuts to the inside of the rack posts where the rack slide assemblies are to install.

   ---

   Note - On the hot aisle, install three cage nuts on each post. On the cold aisle, install two cage nuts on each post for telco racks, or three cage nuts on each post for any other rack

4. Orient a rack slide assembly with the rectangular hole at one end toward the cold aisle.

   The green tab is toward the hot aisle.

   
   
5. Using a No. 2 Philips screwdriver, secure the rack slide assembly to the rack with four M6x14 screws.
6. Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 for the other rack slide assembly.
7. Attach the CMA assembly to the hot aisle end of the rack slide assemblies with two M6x14 screws.
   
8. Install the switch into the rack.
